Im headin up to Smugglers Notch for the first week of November. Ive never kept up much with the resorts in the northeast. Firs week in november is very early in the season, but I think (hoping) that at least a few slopes in VT and NH would be open. I think Killington may be open with their agressive snowmaking, but im not sure about others. Anyone got an Idea of which resorts I might be able to hit?

not to be negitive but probably nothing will be open, the best hope you have is killington but with ASC getting cheaper every year it is doubtful... early nov seems to kind stink, too late for biking and hiking(without winter gear) and too early for skiing

k really isn't that aggressive any more with early season snow making. they will definitely be the first to open top to bottom in new england with decent coverage... but no guarantees on when whereas in previous years, a november opening used to be a disappointment. if you're willing to hike, you may find a trace of snow on smuggs perhaps, but bring your rock skis and disappointment with you.

Unless it is cold, the first weekend in Nov will probably not yield any skiing. Lately it has been quite warm. HOWEVER, in 2002 I had my first day at Jay on NOVEMBER 9TH and the skiing was pretty da%^ good. Keep your fingers crossed and bring some cold weather and we might be lucky to be skiing that early...not at Smuggs though

I've hiked and skiied Smuggs as early as Nov 1st, in 2 feet of pow (no base) but other years, there has been only a trace of snow or none at all that early. Mid to the end of November there is more of a chance of natural snow on the ground. They usually don't start making snow up there until mid-november.

Bretton Woods, NH is a possibility. They have been very aggressive in thier quest to have the longest season in NH the last few years. It wont be super challenging but it should be good quality T2B.
