Fun night in NYC, met my buddy at Penn, had 2 ice cold Sammy's waiting in brown bags, jumped on the 1 train up to B'way and 76....walking up to 85th to George Keeley's for a burger and some pints, we get stopped buy a BIKE COP and each get a $25 fee for "open container".....of all my years living, visiting and drinking in nyc, that was a first!

The show....what a disappointment, so much so we left at intermission, grabbed our Gore and Jiminy voucher before exiting...what happened to the "warrenmillerness" of the show?? no crowd interaction, music was a downer...my buddy was sound asleep (honestly he was)...like i said before, its a great night out with a buddy, beers, burgers, and ski porn...

Move on, there's nothing to see here.

IMO It's gone man. Half the fun of a WM was his cheap-shots commentary. I still watch the old stuff. Now, he limits his work to writing reminisces about the winter spent living in a car in Sun Valley. The first time it was interesting, the second time it was quaint. Now, after the 24th time, it's old. The son doesn't have what dad did. Seems the only reason to go to the show now is for the free vouchers. As the cops like to say, "Move on, there's nothing to see here."

There is a vacuum in the ski flicks business right now - Meatheads has too much urban and WM is well, um, old. TGR is a bit too edgy for me. Sorry to be a stick in the mud on this one.

You need to stop watching skiing and get on out there. It's real good. You Know Who was asking for you over the weekend!!!

OK, just thought the thread was about Wintervention.
I'm not a ski movie buff myself and have seen very few. Thought Wintervention was entertaining when I went in Worcester.

Indeed, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I digress. I'm speaking more of a general trend. Find an older WM movie and compare it against W intervention and then draw your own conclusion. All I'm saying is that is used to be "better" (which means more to my liking.)

Fortunatly for me, about 20 years ago, one of our local video rental places had someone who liked ski movies and they had about 20 or so of them. That made for a really long summer. I started watching the WM movies first and then started watching the Greg Stump ones. Unknowingly, I saved the best for last.
We've been going to see the MW movies for the past few years and I will say they are good, but they could be so much better.
I do miss Warren's sarcastic comments.
I really miss the parts with people falling down when getting off the lift.
