Whos skiing where Monday in anticipation of the upcoming southern/centeral New England storm?

I'm thinking of heading north tonight from Nashua area and getting in place to ski some fresh snow Monday.

Whats a lift-hours storm?

that's my lingo for the fact that the bulk of snow will fall while the lifts are running. My issue is that with such a degradataion of base last week, it's like early season conditions again. It's gonna take several inches to make the trails reasonable to ski on, imo.

So you figure a couple inches on the ground at lift opening, doesn't add much to the experience. By day's end, the skiing will be at its near best. Even though the storm is a fast mover, I've also noticed that most snow starts/ends a few hours later than forcasted.

Now keep in mind I'm a little (not a lot) fussier than in my younger days when I would bolt out the door when I saw two inches. So what works for me may not work for you.

If I see 6" down Monday night I may not be as quick to rearrange my work as if I see 10-12. At 10-12, I can begin to float over the crappy base and that makes all the diff. We'll see. Maybe I'll change my tune. Fortunately the southern areas are gonna get the rebuilding areas they need.

I'm thinking of going tues also.....I was thinking maybe a place like sunapee as it's more southern, no? And this appears to be higher total the more south you go.

An speaking of Sunapee...is it any good, I've never been. Hows the vertical? I can't seem to find it on their website.

I thought about Sunapee as well, but seeing I had free tix for Attitash, that was my pick, and like I said the pictures/conditions looked good today.

4-8" forcast up there, more in Sunapee.

I was considering taking a day off, and sticking more south. Looks like it's going to stick to a I-95 storm.

Weather forecasts showing 4-8 north on Concord NH. i.e Sunapee, Attitash and surrounding area.

By time I head south tomorrow evening roads should be hopefully cleaned up some.

Also I think the snow will be a little less dense and drier so more powdery. 4-8 will be good.

If I go, it will be to Berkshire East. It's in the sweet spot of the storm & it's close to me (approx 60 miles). Of course, if the road conditions are nasty & dangerous, I'll be sensible & not drive in it. But I really want to ski on Monday in this snow storm. If possible.

Snow Day!!

I just got the call at 5:45 AM that school is closed today (Monday). I'm a teacher with two kids in school, so the family and I will be spending the snow day skiing at Mt. Snow!!! I've been waiting for this snow day/ski day and I'm really excited!! The wife and kids are still sleeping, but it doesn't matter today.... a midweek day with some new snow, WOW! this is a rare ocurrance for me!:daffy::snow: Another snow event on Thursday??!!:snow:
