Steins at the end of the season kicks the snot out of me. I prefer my bumps a little smaller than that.
I suck at steep bumps anyway.
Man oh man, am I ever bummed I was not there long enough to be able to get a few shots in that video. Inspiring though in the sense that I need to loose that last 10 lbs and get back down to my ideal weight and kick up the core training a notch or three to get back into prime conditioning.i don't have a lot of spring bump experience but i'd say Steins was a lot of fun

since k hasn't let the bumps build on supe the last few years, i'd agree that stein has been better. however when supe is bumped, i prefer it to stein's. steeper top & bottom and i enjoy the bumps on the flatter middle section. also no runoff. just t-t-b bumps. seems longer.
actually the best spring skiing trail is ol after bear closes. absolutely perfect corn bumps. pitch isn't too shabby either ...

Skidder at Sugarloaf is pretty good and easy to lap off of the Superquad:
Steeper than it looks in the photo

Indeed, I recall Stein's being barely acceptable but I missed out on more than the run... it had been a while since I had the opportunity to participate in such a great gathering. The thumb was indeed reinjured, but I blame poor conditioning on the original injury and especially the reinjury. These past two season my body has deteriorated since I had packed on the weight and stopped working out as much (which I have changed quite a bit this summer). I think the weight is what ultimately did me in as I simply was above the acceptable weight limit for the size ski I ride the forces just were not happening right. I fell where I normally would have easily recovered with a smear of the tails and instead I wheelied them.we had fun, but stein's wasn't all that that day. My legs gave out before the late afternoon when Ripcord apparently softened and was going off. Conditioning wasn't you're problem that day, it was the thumb if I recall?
Hardly. I was the one gasping for air trailing you down Middle Earth as I recall  We are both in it together on losing 20. I already lost 10 and need to drop 10 more. You whipped me earlier in the month when we were up there anyways. I'm with you on losing 10 pounds....hell 20 for me....![]()
How can either of those be considered when they are closed by late March or early April?
"Closed"
Not really a big deal to hit these...patrol is pretty laxed by this point...and the crossover still works.
I don't know about trail, but Mount Ellen has the best set up in the east for the longest season.
Where else gets over 250 inches of snow and offers a lift with steep pitched trails above 3000 feet?
