I always have trouble keeping track of who's open once it really get's going up North, especially when it's warm and raining down here...

I know Sunday River, Sugarloaf, and Bretton Woods are open, anyone else?

Who's still expecting to be open for this weekend???

They didn't open this past weekend at all, I guess partially due to a power outage. I assume they're going to open again this coming weekend...

Killington has been poundin gthe upper mountain, but they can not make snow below the Poma. It is all gone from there down. They need a couple of days to make it down to the K1. They are trying for this weekend.

I've been checking websites because I'm hoping to do a day trip to start my season on Friday - Stratton and Butternut's sites say they plan to open Friday and almost everybody else in S. Vermont and the Catskills and Camelback in the Poconos say they plan to open Saturday. We'll see.

I'm hoping Butternut can pull it off for Friday because it's a much shorter drive for me but I'm not sure if they can. Stratton is around 4 hours but I might have to do it if worse comes to worse.

That's no fun. I like to get all my info from one source. ;)

Besides, it's much more funner for everyone to come here and speculate when they think places will be able to open.

yeah, I see
So soon AZ becomes the National Enquirer of Snowsports Industry :)

Too bad the AZ reports aren't operational any more.
BTW, I've always noticed the snow reports are really up to date, everyone gets the same feed. It's in the resorts best interest to get that info out, and it's usually done twice a day before hours and at closing time.
Now back to the drinking.....

I would have to assume all the major players will try to get open this weekend if possible. It would be a major loss of face to not open until December 11th or 12th for the larger resorts. Guess it all depends what the temps do though... but given the snowfall, I think it is a safe bet that NoVT and NoNH should all be firing for this coming weekend for sure given that they don't have to blow nearly as much base as they would have without the 1'+ that feel at many areas.

That's what I was thinking too, but I haven't heard much chatter around here. I was wondering what other folks might have heard as far as projected opening day. I know that some places really got the goods from the storm over the weekend, while others only got moderate amounts at higher elevations. But I'm not sure exactly what areas got what??

Like I said it's been warmish and rainy down here, so I'm having a hard time gauging what's going on up north...

Seems like NCP may be in the forecast for Thursday? Ick. I take back what I said. I think areas that got a foot this past weekend and that will blow aggressively tomorrow have a chance for the weekend. It looks like ski areas may have a 48 hour window currently open and then a quick shot at a refresh on Friday. I suspect any ski area blowing tonight and tomorrow has a chance. The snow that fell this past weekend will definitely not be enough after the NCP even happens on Thursday.

The Bush will be open starting on Fri Dec 4th. It's been snowing on the hill, especially the upper mountain, on and off for the past 3 days, looking nice and snowy up there. Making snow when the temps allow, day or night. Imagine most of the other resorts in northern NE and NY are doing the same thing. Nothing in the valley yet

That's the kind of response that I was looking for, thanks!

Lets hope the NCP isn't too bad. I'm anxious to see more areas open up. :fangun:

This would be demeaning if Butternut opened before Hunter!!!!!:-?

I just checked Butternut's site, they're planning on being open on the 11th, whereas Hunter is still shooting for the 5th. I'd be really surprised if Butternut could open before then.
