Billski would for sure, especially if he could add in Cranmore for a Trifecta! Billski could even count Attitash/Wildcat as a Trifecta since it is three peaks.

 :spin:

hee! hee! hee! What I thought of right away was multi-day tickets. Spend Friday at Cat, Saturday at Attitash, Sunday at the cat, and so on....

I wonder what will happen to the Liftopia discounts...IIRC they used to have some good deals for Wildcat. Would have taken advantage of them except 3 hours one way for a day trip is a bit far.

The real liftopia deals get loaded only a couple weeks ahead. Resorts are using them for demand management. I view Lifttopia as a short-term resource, not a method for locking in prices well in advance. Think of it like "stand-by" on the airlines...

Word is they're gone for now, but Wildcat is keeping open the option of using it in the future. Not sure what Peak will say about that, but at least the mountain itself left the door open. They ARE however honoring those that purchased tickets on Liftopia before the sale.

I don't think I ever went to Wildcat and said hey I wish they had more snow making here and maybe some more grooming. That is not a driving point. I was driven away from Sunapee with more grooming and snowmaking or at least in part from those and from the price of those passed onto the skier.

I've definitely thought that. Some extra snowmaking and selective grooming can provide for a more consistent product during snow droughts, and hopefully increase the season length as well.

Extra snowmaking/grooming on Lynx? Sure. That trail is a nightmare by noon.

Anywhere else? Nope.

Interesting moves. Reminds me of a couple years ago when Peaks raised the season pass price at Mount Snow. The got a good amount of complaints (not from me, I though it was still a more than fair price). Anyway, on the passholder website, the head of marketing at the time said they would be getting rid of most (if not all) of the other discounts, so the pass was still a good deal. Turns out it didn't work out that way and both that year and to this day there are as many if not more discounts than ever. So I won't be surprised if they come up with a bunch of new Wildcat ones in the future. Guess they figure it can't hurt to test the loyalty of their customers, we'll see.

I can't imagine how much of a migraine this transition actually presents to so many people this close to an opening date. My head hurts thinking about the whole concept of "transferability" of prepaid lessons, rentals, daycare, seasonal instructional programs and visualizing how it will come together as a win-win solution.

Its early days yet, a Work-in-Progress.

Actually, I'm trying to imagine one of those days during Christmas or February Vacation when the HSQ goes down on wind hold at 10 AM. De-booting, packing up, 30 minutes down through the notch and over to Attitash, unpacking, rebooting, standing in line to have tix transferred, click in to go to the lift line .. especially if you've got kids in lessons or daycare at Wildcat.

Value????

I'm still worried about the amount of grooming they will be doing.
