It's a little pimple hill, but with 10" fresh it'll be a blast!

Thunder Bump ;)

The website says they only have 11 trails out of 30 open. Do you think that will increase by this evening?

At this point I'd have to say no...it stopped snowing over an hour ago!

Sorry, but all of these weather morons ought to be shot. Isn't it illegal to shout "fire!" in a public place?

Ratings. It's all that matters to them. That's why it's better to ingore them, look at the radar and a couple of webcams, stick your schnoz out the window and decide for yourself.

If I made my plans based on their forecasts, I'd never have learned to ski, bike, canoe, fish, hike, climb, hangglide, etc. etc.

I got the 5-10" forecast from the National Weather Service 9:36AM Advisory. They just put out a cancellation for that at 2:21PM. Now the forecast is back down to 3"-6". We already have 3"+ now and the snow is still coming down here. I won't complain. We will probably hit Thunder Bump anyway for a few hours tonight.

Too bad that one slid south of the northern areas, but thanks to a big fat L sitting a couple hundred miles north of the border the Dacks and Vt should make out ok over the next couple days....

I have 3.5" here at my house. The snowpack consists of 2" of snow with a nice layer of ice in the middle, with new snow on top. It is still snowing very lightly right now and most of our roads are unplowed and really slick from the freezing rain.

I might sneak a day away from work and ski at Mountain Creek with my son, his school is closed for a teacher sabatical tommorow. Mountain Creek is reporting 7" of new snow.

Loaf, send Gores95 a PM. He lives close to MC and skis there often. He'll give you the real deal up in Vernon Valley.

fwiw, the clipper system might be news for southern areas of the northeast, but the mountains will be getting their due over the next two days and nights. upslope snow coming in behind! fingers crossed on this one, the current weather events are hopefully just a tease.
