what a ridiculous article. Sure I'll buy into Hunter being dangerous but it doesn't deserve to be in with the other 4... What a LOL website snowbrains is.

Sure, it's ridiculous but I definitely think Hunter belongs in a "most dangerous" list of ski areas. Maybe it's at the top.

Is the bar at Hunter still a thing? I (young and single) back in the 80's had some great times there. I only apres'd after skiing but that place rocked back then. I had heard its a much different vibe these days.

Yep no where like it was.................$11 for a beer plus 18% tip automatically added NO CASH just credit which makes it terrible the couple times it's crowded. Couple bands a year. MUCH better vibe outside.

So, the number 1 groomer, 30 yrs of experience retired. The #2 guy and 2 other groomers left for Belleayre for season.
Danny Pickett also hired by Belleayre (Vail laid him off a couple of years ago).

Also, heard that Z lift is being repaired. was in such bad shape it should not have even been run last season. Skyride/Flyer is running for the summer. Had to replace the gear box and a lot of other stuff.

Vail is not allowing whatever chemical Slutzky's and Peak used to make the snow light etc.. Groomers say that the snow that has been made by Fail turns to ice as soon as they groom it, which explains a lot!

That's for marginal temps and very expensive. My guess is using less water and making dryer snow.
They are using too much water. There are glue traps everywhere. They have had a ton more injuries due to the sticky snow that just appears.

Is snowmax really toxic? i know a company doesnt want to ever admit that their product is bad but based on 20 minutes of internet research it seems to an irritant at high quantities. sounds more like vail doesnt want to pay for it.

true, cost and Fail want's to be "green". this info is based on a conversation with a long time ski patroller, who has to deal with all these unnecessary injuries. The ankle and foot breaks in ski boots has sky rocketed.

I was saying that last year!!! Great snow while it was made, after grooming it that night the next day it was horrible. Once a bunch of us cut it up it was better.

I hadn't heard there was a Snowmax van at Vail properties. That's got to hit the Showtime properties the hardest, right?

it is a muddy mess and massive boulders all over, but they did grade it. a lot of machines..and for some reason, 2 parts of a double wide trailer are by the tubing park.
ski bowl road is closed so there is now a lot of pipe and materials in the lower lot.

Zip line is still being removed, and they can;t decide when Van Winkles is open ....still a vail fail mess
