Another option is to 1) be self employed, and 2) have a job that you can do anywhere, as long as you have a high speed internet connection. This lets me live 5 minutes from a ski area and ski Mondays through Wednesdays til about 1:30. After that I come home, return calls and emails, and work til whenever the job is done. Thursdays and Fridays I set aside for meetings. Works for me.
