How many scammers do w have here? You know who you are. Your the ones that go into the administration office with your digger in the bottom of your ski or board and want the ski area to give you something for it. Then you wonder why there are closed signs all over the mountain because of thin cover. Thanks to all the scammers out there many ski areas put closed signs on trails that have thin cover.

Can you really go to the resort and complain about core shots??? I never wouldve thought they'd do anything but laugh at you...

I would NEVER do such a thing...core shots and base damage come with the sport...simple as that.

I've never heard of this either, but there is always someone looking for a hand-out so I'm sure it happens...

Never heard of this happening....especially since the disclaimers on tickets and season passes are pretty clear that damage to equipment is your problem.

I've done it. The mountains usually give me a free ski to replace the damaged one.

Dreadful. I hope you only got ONE ski. :-o
Did they notice that there was nothing inside the helmet you were wearing too???
I hope they had an "arbitration department" out back run by Bruno and Mugsy....

I thought the scam would go like this:
person crashes on the hill. after patrol arrives, five other people all come over complaining about neck problems all caused by the same incident.

Happened two years ago, IIRC. I didn't witness it first hand, but I guess two guys ducked a rope on a VERY thin cover trail, tore their equipment up, and tried to get money back AND have the resort replace their skis. I believe the response was a very enthusiastic "NO."

How stupid do you have to be? First you duck a rope on an obviously unsafe run, then you want the resort to refund your ticket and buy you new skis because you have self control problems and a severe lack of common sense? Gimme a break...

What did they tell you... to go outside and pick one off the ski rack...:p

Yes, I only got ONE ski. I only damaged one, so it's only fair.

As a matter of fact they did have a rack outside the lodge they told me to pick from. Some of the skis must have been reserved for other customers because they were locked to the rack. I finally found one I liked that was close in size to my undamaged ski so I figured it was close enough...

It would be the same person that says, "Officer, if that gas station didn't sell me that high octane gas I wouldn't have been doing 83 in a 45 zone."

I normally make sure when I do this to pick out a ski that's just about the right length for my wife ;) I've told her over the years to not worry about the fact that the graphics on each ski don't match  :spin: ;)

somewhere, It is written that life is to be perfect, someone is always responsible for anything that happens to oneself, fall skiing, sue the resort, get a coreshot, resort will pay !! If you are a dumbA!!!, so what, some one will be responsible, the american dream !! I think that if mountain manegement made a list of the absurd you wouldn't have a hard time believing the list.
