First Time Out

I didn't even have look to know what your answer would be. Good Luck!

Thanks! I guess I am getting a bit predictable. If my plans work out, I promise to send trip reports on a regular basis. I will also do my best to assist any AZ'ers who might wish to take a trip west and answer any questions they may have about the area. And, if they would like, I'll be happy to take some turns with them and share whatever "local" goodies I learn about while living there.

YO Salida! I had a pair of those Atomic 8.20's myself. My first "decent" ski.

They helped my progress substantially. Nice pics.

They were good for their time! I used them for about 3 years, while playing the intermediate game myself. Eventually, upgraded to Elan M12's, and used them soley as rock skis. The bindings are about shot, and the bases are now made of more p-tex than base material... They do have a special place in my heart though!

Actually, I change mine. Wachusett, Saturday, September 23rd. They'll have the patch for Kids Fest.

I'm really hoping for a trip to Europe late October-early November. If that doesn't work out then either Hunter's first snow or November 24th in Vermont - whichever comes first ;)

Whenever the combination of being able to miss work and where there's snow meet. If that doesn't happen, opening weekend at one of the ASC resorts - most likely K.

It’s not like that decision is up to me. Family obligations, work, etc. still have an undue influence over my obsession. If I had my druthers I in the first chair(gondola) at Killington on opening day, however it is more likely to be Jiminy Peak on the first training day, if they have snow that day, training without snow is a strange event.

For the last two years our first days out and last were at Crotched. We are planning on starting the season there this year again. Good snow, good grooming and a good way to break in your legs.........

Hmmmm .... probably Hunter opening weekend. Maybe I'll run up to Sugarloaf to "pick up" my pass for a weekend instead of having it mailed.

First 06/07

For the past couple of years I've been hitting up Waterville for my starting weekend right after Thanksgiving. It'd be cool if I could get something earlier, but I'm not holding my breath.

Prob. Belleayre for a 15 dollar friday special. Then again if the weather is good (too soon for weather predictions?) I'd like to go to whiteface at thanksgiving.

Bump..and I changed the date to this year.

You change the initial post date. I'll change it for the entire thread.

For me, it'll likely be either Killington, Jiminy or Hunter. Hopefully mid-November, but I decided to not get all worked up about trying to get out before T-day this year.

Same answer as last year. Depending on how you count it, Termas de Chillan on August 11th or whenever Killington opens in November. Last year, I skied on K opening day which was Thanksgiving day.
