Do you want a medal or something 'son'? Are you better than everyone because you made predictions 2 weeks ago for weather leading up to the 17th?

What exactly are you trying to prove anyways? Trust me, from pretty much your first post on this forum, you proved your arrogance right away. You can give up on that any time now.

Didn't I send you off to potheads.com yesterday? It's where you NEED to be. :)

I went with the river.

There are some folks over on the River board who are suggesting that they might actually open tomorrow. But, of couse because they would only be open for a couple of days, it really would just be testing the lifts and further tests of the snowmaking system from yesterday ;)

From the pics they've posted, it looks as if they could put up a couple thin cover signs and open from midstation up now.

Considering it looks like they'll be able to make snow tonight, and probably tomorrow night for good length of time, they should definitely be able to open within the next couple days. There also look to be a few windows a couple other nights over the next 10 days, that would allow them, to at the minimum, keep whatever they've got open.

Probably a three or four way tie given the aggressive push out of the starting gate from the seven areas that started up today and as mentioned we can not leave Okemo out of the hunt just because they didn't blow in October. I am impressed with Attitash and their new snow making system. Mount Snow got the same treatment and more guns but Attitash has the temperature advantage. Not sure if Peaks is going to be aggressive with opening but given how quickly they have covered Crotched and they are looking to impressive on their first season... I gotta put my money on Attitash at this point and go with the under dog for the upset.

I was at Sunday River twice today...at 10:30 am they were blowing top to bottom on T2 to Cascades...went back at 5pm and they were still blowing but only up on T2. Heard a rumor they may "open" tomorrow...maybe someone already said it in here, but too many snowblower posts in there for me to go back and check. Regardless of whether they open or not, it made me all warm and fuzzy to see the glorious plumes of white love spraying from the tower guns!

Surprised by the strong votes for Sugarloaf. I can understand Sunday River but I would be surprised their would be a strong enough market of sliders making the long drive up to Sugarloaf for one or two trails. Also surprised everyone seems to have counted Bretton Woods out when they have gone up against Killington for first to open and last to close the last few seasons. They seem to have let up a bit this past late season but I wouldn't count them out quite yet considering they did ante up for this snowmaking chance.

2nd hand info I got was then went till noon and then started up again when they could. Nice to have visual conformation. numbers of 2 feet of snow on T2 were spread around. I spoke with a few people last night and all I got was its was being consierded and they will evaluate am today, but doubtful they had enough time.

my bad on misquoting gpetrics of k-zone, i must have added HUGE....probably got excited. The pics on K.com were posted there between 9 and 10, and reports said guns shut off at around 1:00. So maybe thats why there aren't whales in the pictures.

K, So the K trip pics and vid were posted. All I saw was 6-12 inches here and there and a lot of slurry covered grass that I saw in the K pics. I'm going to go with no whales at K yesterday, today, tommorow or for the next week coming. Excitement got the better of someone. :spread:

theres pics on k-zone that show whales, and if you can determine how much snow is on the ground from those videos, i'm really impressed because all i see is snow on the lens of a camera.

It was at least 12-17 inches deep if not pushing 21 inches in places. And I definitely saw a hump, might've been a whale but no doubt a hump. Could've even been a swale. Or a big bump. Possibly even a lumpy bumpy swale. Which could be defined as a whale.

You were up there? I'll believe first hand info from this group for sure. However, you're sort of confirming what I said....the majority of the depth is 12 inches. What I saw in the pics and vids were the post holes which weren't even 6 inches deep (and you can be damn sure you're going to posthole snow that wet to the ground) and the drains were still fully showing. I damn sure wasn't seeing any whales.

Ice Cube - Today was a good day

I could quote the lyrics word for word, but I don't know how Greg would like that.
