How important is the 'ski town' to you?

I like to have a few beers after skiing, grab a bite, then maybe a couple more. That's on Saturday nite, if I'm on a week or more ski trip, I don't drink that much every nite.

At WF most weekends I don't even go into LP. Wilmington has enough bars and resturants for me.

It is a non issure for me cause I live in the best ski town in the east. For you people that say if you ski hard enough you dont need a good town I would say to you get off the couch in the summer. Skiing is not that much of a work out. You ride up a lift and slide down a hill.

Right now, it's not important as I day trip and pretty much head straight home after my day on the hill.

For one night, not important

For more than two nights, fairly important. I love to eat out, see live music and imbibe. Having a town, such as Stowe that will cater to those wants only makes the ski vacation better in my opinion.

If I'm not staying over, completely unimportant. If I'm staying over, halfway decent lodging and a conveinence store type place are about all I need. For a long stay, maybe one restaurant.
Pretty close to the same. We don't really do overnights now with the kids... But really, a clean bed and some food to eat are all that would matter. No need to be fancy, and I wouldn't be out partying anyway. Ski town vibe isn't necessary. Though if I were going out west without the kids, that might be different... ;)

A place to crash and somewhere to grab a burger or pizza is about all I need.

Not really important to me. Nice to have a couple restaurants for dinner and perhaps a bar. If I'm there for a few days, a grocery store is nice (at least if I'm staying in a place with any sort of kitchen). I don't need any place with great night life or anything. I choose where to go based on the skiing, not the town.

Its important to me. I really enjoy going out for a few beers after skiing. When the kids stay home we usually go out everynight. I also like to hit up the ski shops from time to time.

I actually prefer it if there is no town. The fewer people the better.

Actually, Ste. Anne des Mont was pretty close to a perfect ski town. Except for the price of gas and groceries.

A discotech with a DJ playing euro trance is essential..along with either a McDonalds and a Taco Bell..

actually one thing i think i laugable is the quality of the dj talent in ski towns. the only place where they had a good range was st. anton. there was every from funk to triphop to bassanova to house a fun place for sure. however dj talent isn't something i am looking for on a two day trip. maybe on a two week trip.

Hip Hop night at the former Rancher..now Town Square Tavern in Jackson was always great..definitely some steezy beats for me to bust out some crispy dance moves..plus live poker in the back,.

I don't know, man . . . I used to be able to crank all day, and drink all night . . .

Now I just get tired right around 10:30-11:00 most nights that I ski . . . My legs aren't tired or anything, it's more just a general body tiredness where I just want sleep.

And while this isn't always the case in the east, it's DEFINITELY true out west (Hiking and powder skiing are f'in tiring . . . no matter how good shape you're in).

Skiing is also mentally stimulating so even if you are just yo-yo-ing groomers..your brain/mind is working alot..and powder skiing for me at least is the most tiring..because on a powder day I ski at a frantic pace with no warm-up..and I usually burn out alot quicker on a powder day..I find chalky packed powder the easiest on the body to ski..

im just figuring out how to package the show. on most nights we progress thru the night with funk earlier then get into more of a open scratch format(hiphop/rock/anything we like) thn finish the night with funky ass house. we will see what happens
