Just some fun here. The end is soon if not already. How do you plan to cope this summer?

Why change now? The summer won't be that much different than how this winter went.....

I voted for sniveling and drooling because that's how I'll feel about it.

In reality, I'll be too busy around the house when I'm not fishing or hiking or driving kids to soccer to notice much.

Before you know it, it'll be Fall again.

Damned leaves!

I will try to ski into May, and then at that point as my paddling/skiing friend likes to say:

Melted snow = h2O. It will be time for some whitewater and maybe some gates on the Esophus. I just hope this summer is not bone dry like last year was, March has been very dry.

For me, I am now making one big attempt to find distractions (in addition to the usual house project/family stuff) until November rolls around again...

Been thinking a lot about getting more use out of my bike this year...

I'm pissed that the season has most likely come to an end (I'm still holding out for one more day...maybe...). However, I'm looking foward to riding my new mountain bike with my family this summer. Hopefully, at the very least, I'll be in much better shape for the start of next season!

Golf, baby! The course and range opened yesterday and I got in an unexpected 9 holes, going back now for some more range time - the weather sucks for skiing, but it couldn't be better for an early season start to golf.

Hope to get in my 40 or so rounds this year until about October, early November - and then it'll be time to ski again :)

Out in the woods as much as possible.

If the weather is inclement, watching vids I took of the kid skiing this winter. Watching Meathead DVDs and playing Alpine Racing on the PS2 and Skifree on the pc.

My other is the motorcycles, the kids have been begging to get out on the bikes. The ground is still a little wet and I'm not ready to give up the garage yet.

Let's see... a lot of sniveling and drooling.

But I do that sometimes in the winter too, so, no change there.

I'll get a lot of use out of my bikes with any luck. Maybe dumb enough to sign up for the Churn and Burn 24 hr mtb race again. I will spend yet another summer thinking about getting a motorcycle license and a bike but probably won't.

I'll be looking everywhere for used Legend 8000's and AT bindings and boots.

And of course I may post on AZ. Every once and a while. I guess.

Endless days of road and mountain biking. Perhaps training for a triathlon or two (the mini kind, please). I'll also anxiously await another Halloweeen Weekend opening. Man, talk about leaving the line too early. I think the season got DQ'd.

I try to get up to North Conway most weekends in the summer. Hiking and Kayaking.

Bought the fishing license last weekend. Didn't launch the canoe last year @ all...due to travel, roofing project and yardwork.

Still have some landscaping to do around the pool (another spare time back hole).

But early morning weekend trips to the local waters are on the menu.

I play hoop @ lunch all summer long (4 days in this week and tomorrow is a sure thing).

I might bring the bike in since I rarely have time to ride @ home. I could split the week up between hoops and riding.

No drooling. I told my kids a lesson I learned years ago...enjoy today, tomorrow is no guarantee AND whatever you do...don't wish for time to pass quickly, because that's the one wish that seems to come true. (Hey, I was a kid...what did I know? Who knew wishing for Chritmas to hurry up couldn't be "reversed"?! *DOH!*)

We are fortunate to live only a short walk from the lake... boating, fishing, neighborhood beach... modest biking & hiking opportunities nearby... 3 sets of public tennis courts within a 15 minute drive... not too tough to cope with the off season ;-)

Besides doing all the house chores that I didn't do this winter, I will be watching my library of 16 ski movies.
