I will spend yet another summer thinking about getting a motorcycle license and a bike but probably won't.

i just got mine last year. one thing i noticed was the insurance folks ask how long you have had your license. you may get a better rate if you get your license now even if you dont plan on getting a bike. you can take the msf class with out a bike.

This is the time of year I miss my bike. I had one for about three years and sold it in 2000. A yellow 1996 Honda Nighthawk 750:

Definitely old school styling which I liked... :-(

A month by month breakdown of my summer plans:

April: Skiing at Killington with some AZ'ers a few more times before the season ends:cool:

May: Kayak the Esophus, brrrrrr, and hike for some turns at Belleayre:spin:

June: Post mind baffling photos on the "guess the ski are thread" - trip to Las Vegas.

July: Begin moving to Connecticut and closer to ski country:-D

August: Finish moving my business and settling into a new home.

September: Waiting for the first leaves to change color.

October: :flame: the leaves in my yard, and hopefully skiing at Killington.

Other.

I will continue to skin up the Wasatch Range and Uintas through July. I will then take a well deserved break and Mountain Bike up the same places I ski. If I feel the need to ski, I will hike Timpannogos and ski the snow fields in Aug/Sept. I will then be ready for winter turns again in late October on the higher elevation terrain and start this whole absurd cycle over again. ;)

You may as well had just said "Hit a gazunta fish about 200 times, right on the nose, and the old guy next to me says, 'those little bahstahhhds taste good, don't they...?'" and it would have meant the same thing to me.... ;)

I hope your golf season is as good as this past ski season... JK ;)

I remember learning my gazintas in 3rd grade: two gazinta four two times, three gazinta nine three times, four gazinta twelve three times........like that????? :)

That's how I learned to score so low in golf, Brian..........;-)

summer? whoa whoa whoa... somebody skipped spring! :flame:

ideally, i will be skiing right up until the first day of summer then hiking mostly after that. scoping out new lines ideally, clearing blow downs where i find them. catching sunsets when possible, some camping. potential trip with the g/f out to cedar point... the ONLY reason to visit the land known as ohio (sorry buckeyskier ;) ). if the funds become available, i have wanted to buy a 'yak for a long time and would love to be yaking at lake willoughby and lake champlain amongst some other choice flat water locations. and lots and lots of reading in the A/C :D

Well after I get over the fact that the season has ended, I'll uncover the crappy corvette and start working on it, driving it around, etc. Work on the house, maybe. Get the boat in the water, float around a bit. All just distractions. People ask me what I do in the summer..I tell them that I wait for winter.

I'm headed out there probably this summer.. My Brother owns a resort house on lake Erie near there.

I used to go there as a kid... Last time i was there it was opening day for the Gemini Racing Coaster.. Now I here the coasters are absolutely off the hook...

Cant wait!

Maybe you will progress to whitewater, it's alot of fun and similar to skiing in some ways. Either way paddling is alot of fun.

The freshwater ponds are great for escaping the crowds. During the high season the beaches on the ocean and bay side get too crowded. We usually hit Crosby beach around 6/6:30 am to walk or swim the dogs. The oldest of our 2 dogs is named after Crosby beach.

As for the Woodshed..... That place makes you drink the part. I love those run-down and rough looking places. I mean that in the best possible way. Its a fun spot on the right night. We used to hit that place after waiting tables in Orleans. I'm sick of Land Ho in Orleans, WAY to crowded. The Red Nun in Chatham isn't a bad spot to grab a few.

We were married in Orleans 4 years ago this September.

It looks like we might be able to get an AZ gathering on the Cape this summer.

I love the Cape almost as much as skiing.

Cape is great, been vacationing out there for about 30 years now

I'm addicted to body boarding, so whenever there is even a trace of a swell, I'm there - mostly Cape Cod and Rhode Island spots.
Actually, I'm starting my wave riding this Sunday. The ocean water temps are up to 40 F and climbing, woohoo ! Looks like there will be waves!!!!

Then there the bike (rd, mt), camping, hiking, kayaking and just quiet times spent on the porch reading. What's there to cope with - not enough time to do it all, that's the problem.

i have 100% no desire to do whitewater and don't see that as progress, but rather a completely different kayak activity in the same way that cross country and downhill skiing are different. i enjoy flat water for the peace, quite, and calm... quite the opposite of my passion for skiing which is kinda intriguing. i would be much more interested in eventually progressing in flat water to the point of doing multi-day tours and trips, that sounds like more my speed of progress.

Hmm I never heard anyone consider Eastham elite like was mentioned earlier in this thread. My aunts have had 2 houses near first encounter beach in eastham for almost 30 years. Been going since before i can remember. Nothing elite about it that i know of. So laid back its hard to feel your pulse after a few days.

The woodshed is awesome. Best bar on the cape. Best beach with a bar has to be the Beachcomber or Cahoon Hollow, whichever you know it by. the walk back up sucks though. actually i think its the only beach with a bar.

I just was inquiring is all, I started out paddling flatwater, but almost immediately moved on to whitewater which I find gives me almost the same rush as skiing. To each his own

I should have explained myself better.

What I meant by "elite" was, if you don't have relatives that have owned property in Eastham for almost 30 years, then good luck trying to get a place there. You'd have an easier time taking the family cat surfing. (Not that I've tried that). And if you do find a place for sale, you will pay as much for ten square feet as you would for a thousand square feet anywhere else in the world. The people are very nice.

Well....let's see, first off I'd like to really find a JOB! It's been a long hard winter for me looking for one. So with that all aside, seeing where we've already planned and saved for our annual April trip to the Carribean(Akumal, Mexico), we'll start with that. :) Hopefully, I'll have found a job by then.....next week I go for an interview and test for the State of NH NHDOT....

Well after that's all said and done, we will do our usual summer stuff: biking, kayaking, camping, some hiking, swimming(of course), and beaching. When we get bored ( ;) ) with all that, there's always fixing up the yard and of course working on the house.....

ahh i see. Yes the only reason they have them is because they bought a long time ago dirt cheap. No way they could afford anything now. People are paying outrageous sums of money for old little cottages and tearing them down and putting up almost McMansions on tiny plots. Its disgusting really.
