People are paying outrageous sums of money for old little cottages and tearing them down and putting up almost McMansions on tiny plots. Its disgusting really.

It is unreal to see how much construction is happening on the Cape. Everywhere you drive there is a new house going up, an addition going on, or as you said, knock it down and build it up. Makes me want to be a contractor on the Cape. My in-laws have a place in Brewster off of Millstone. On one of the other side streets a family put up a massive log cabin. The place looks amazing but it belongs in the mountains or on a lake, not on the Cape.

If you want to see snooty, hit Chatham! I love Brewster because there is no real downtown for people to strut around showing off their car, clothes, money etc etc

We are on Prell Circle. I used to sneak on the course at Ocean Edge at dusk to chip and putt.

I'll PM you if we need a 4th for golf. ;-)

Ride coasters and ride quads. Coasters replace skiing and quads replace snowmobiling. I'm usually fine until all the summer activities start dying down by the end of October.

In no particular order: hiking, swimming, beach time, Red Sox, working for $$$, and dreaming of skiing.

I will spend time hiking, biking, working, put lots of miles on the motorcycle, work around the house, and drink plenty of beer! And also spend lots of time on AZ thinking about skiing!

I'm headed out there probably this summer.. My Brother owns a resort house on lake Erie near there.

I used to go there as a kid... Last time i was there it was opening day for the Gemini Racing Coaster.. Now I here the coasters are absolutely off the hook...

Cant wait!

1978 huh? LOL, I was just out there last year. Besides the fact it was 100 degrees everyday (and down to 70 the morning we left), it was a pretty good trip. Gemini is pretty tiny now.

I think this is my month by month:

April: Close ski season at K, Golf, open pool, MLB season starts, Coaster season starts
May: Golf, NHL Playoffs
June: Golf, PA Trip, Stanley Cup
July: Possible Cape trip, golf, shovel out from big unexpected summer blizzard (hey, we can wish...)
August: Golf, go back to effing school
September: FOOTBALL!, cooler air to enjoy
October: Put clubs away, close pool, bring skis to shop, new boots, enjoy 3' on halloween for the second straight year
November: Home of the best holiday of the year: THANKSGIVING: Food, Football, and the official start to NE ski season

Is there a problem with 1978? I thought that was a great summer...the summer between my junior and senior year of high school.

I think it was right around then... that I rode the Cyclone at "Riverside Park" in Agwam, MA (now Six Flags New England) on the night before it officially opened. You might say I was a "test dummy" for the ride.

I never said there was anything wrong with it. I just knew the year, so I said it. Cyclone opened in 1983 and was the 3rd biggest wooden coaster in the world at the time.

summer? whoa whoa whoa... somebody skipped spring! :flame:

ideally, i will be skiing right up until the first day of summer then hiking mostly after that. scoping out new lines ideally, clearing blow downs where i find them. catching sunsets when possible, some camping. potential trip with the g/f out to cedar point... the ONLY reason to visit the land known as ohio (sorry buckeyskier ;) ). if the funds become available, i have wanted to buy a 'yak for a long time and would love to be yaking at lake willoughby and lake champlain amongst some other choice flat water locations. and lots and lots of reading in the A/C :D

I would probably feel the same way if I lived in New England! You guys have it all, the ocean, mountains, lakes and rivers. We do have decent lakes and rivers and some hills in SE Ohio. To me Cedar Point is like a crowded ski resort on the weekend, stand in a long line for a 3 minute thrill ride. But those 3 minutes are fun! Too bad you don't fish, when you're at Cedar Point you could take advantage of Lake Erie's world class walleye and smallmouth bass fishing.
People really have A/C in the norhteast kingdom?

I'll be spending time fishing, fishing, fishing, mushroom hunting (in the spring), fishing, golfing, fishing, fishing, biking, fishing , light hiking with the grandkids, and oh yeah, fishing. Also checking in on AZ and making myself crazy looking at the skiing gallery.;-)

Sorry Zand, I misinterpreted your earlier 1978 comment

and thought you were saying something like Oh my god! to the year...like that was a LONG, long time ago. I know you are still in your late teens or early 20's.

it was friggin HOT up here last summer. i never had an A/C unit until last year and i used to live in MA. i think the lack of the sea breeze off the ocean makes the interior areas feel warmer than the ocean areas. i think the heat and humidity this past summer may have been abnormal for this area (any one verify that? i am kinda new to living in these parts...), but yea, people up here do have A/C units :)

I will be pulling out the water skis. I try to spend as much time as I can on the water in the summer. The funny thing is I could be sitting on a boat on a very nice day with the sun blasting away and snow skiing will enter my mind.:???:
