What do you do in the off season?
Hike, bike, swim, work extra so i can have more time off in the winter. i've been fortunate enough to hav ethe oppurtunity to go skiing in the summer a few times as well

Do you plan for ski trips?
I think about where I'd like to go.

Purchase or think about purchasing new skiing equipment?
Nope

Think about last year’s season?
Yes, unfortunately there isn't much to day dream about from this past poor snow year's ski season

Dream about next year’s season?
oh yhea, that started already

Do you do anything too keep in shape for next year’s season?
drink beer, hike, bike, swim, drink beer oh and did i mention that i like to drink beer, preferably long trail

Read ski publications?
powder, freeskier

What do you like to read in ski magazines?
travel articles, pics, basically teh whole thing cover to cover

Work on your skis, snowboards or other equipment?
bike, when it needs to be put back together

Plan on visiting different resorts next season?
i hope so

Visit ski resorts in the summer for non skiing activities?
yes, b/c i live here.

Work around the house, hike, would like to get back into mountain biking.

Do you plan for ski trips?
Usually I start thinking about the couple of extended trips I take each season.

Purchase or think about purchasing new skiing equipment?
Usually, yes. Depends on what I need. I'm pretty happy with my current equipment.

Think about last year’s season?
Oh yes. Definitely. By August, I'm reviewing my own trip reports from the previous season just to help with the jones.

Dream about next year’s season?
Yes. Definitely.

Do you do anything too keep in shape for next year’s season?
Not really. Hiking, but beyond that, nothing.

Read ski publications?
Not normally.

What do you like to read in ski magazines?
See above. I would love to see a well-done Eastern-specific ski mag.

Work on your skis, snowboards or other equipment?
No. I usually clean everything up in the spring and put it away. I'll have the skis tuned in the Fall or after the first few outings once the season starts.

Plan on visiting different resorts next season?
Yes. I always like to try a few new places each season.

Visit ski resorts in the summer for non skiing activities?
Not normally, but I have and I imagine I will again at some point.

Softball league, some golf, beach, beer.

Try not to torture myself too much by doing that

Not really although I may try this year to strengthen my legs this year

Whatever happens next year, happens

Usually go to cannon in the summer, wifes aunt has a house near waterville.

Thanks to all that responded to this poll. Since I’m not a skier your knowledge is greatly appreciated!
If the publisher does a ski magazine, I will be people like yourselves who will help produce it. Many articles in magazines we published
are written by the same people who buy them. The editorial content carriers more weight than the advertising. With that publishing model our magazines readers receive a valuable tool and outlet for their passions.

The informal poll was posted because this is only the beginning of the process. In the future a more in-depth poll one may be posted on types of articles you would like to see in a magazine. A new skiing magazine may come out of this, or skiing may be part of a broader Magazine. Whatever the outcome, thank you again for your response to this poll.
