May 25th or so at Killington, one Memorial Day weekend, probably in the early 2000s. Can't remember the exact year.

It seems to me that your average "Joe Blow" skier seems to think the Skiing can't be any good past the middle of March. If you tell your co-workers you were skiing in mid or late April, they look at you like you are crazy. The average person has no comprehension as to how great spring skiing can be.

around here..casual skiers talk about the end of their ski season in late February..people in early March were like, we're getting out for one last day..They're not like me..frantic that they're not out in Utah skiing the steep and deep..

June 1st at K approx 1984.
That evening we went water skiing on Saratoga Lake.

Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way.
La la la la...
Those were the days, oh yes those were the days

The average "Joe Blow" skier probably can't handle spring conditions. You can't skid your turns. You need considerable leg strength and stamina. You have to posess at least basic mogul skiing skills. The typical out-of-shape intermediate is likely to take a couple of runs and wimper to the deck. They really can only handle midwinter corduroy.

Cinco de Mayo, 2007 at Wildcat with BobR, jerryg and snoseek. Classic!

Some of my favorite spring turns are on Polecat. I don't care about it being a beginner trail. The views and spring Sun are something I will always enjoy. Company was good. i think Snowseek might have been there also.
