Let's use this thread to post the current location of good bump runs so others can enjoy. Simply post the ski area & trail(s) that had good bumps, as well as the conditions and any pics/vids you may have.

Unfortunately the moguls I skied the last 3 days would require some traveling. I would post pics but this is an eastern site. There is hope for the future though.

This strikes me as a "you shoulda been here yesterday" type thread. Should be interesting...

Come on think positive, you can still make an alert when they start forming. An example, I heard from a post on this forum and from WiIdcat's web site that moguls were forming in middle catapult, I went before more warm temps and rain will ruin it. Figure if people know where the trails are and look at the forecast they can make the call on whether to go. Another factor I keep in mind is if the trail has good protection with trees, in a bowl and so on. Most ski areas already do this so only a prolong warm/rain spell will be detremental.

Bobcat is going to have moguls now on Wildcat. Wildcat will always have some decent moguls, unless it is right after a rain storm. IMO, if you want consistent moguls Wildcat is the place to go.

minus 'seeding' and a significant snowmaking commitment to the trail, I have a hard time imagining anywhere in the Northeast having a trail with decent bumps at the moment.

01/13/07, Sel’s choice at Okemo. Nite before, I noticed it on the web site (after trying to figure which was better; the highest percent of terrain open and number of trails open ;-) ).

It looked like they just seeded it, about 20 in length and 5-6 bumps in width. Nice lines, so you can really get a good rhythm. The temps were high (40) with light rain during morning, the bumps were really soft. A freestyle team was practicing on them also, around mid morning, bumps on skiers left got deeply rutted. Toward the end of the day, temps were dropping and the bumps started to get a little granular in certain sections. In addition, it looked like the bumps held up nicely, even when boarders were doing their kamikaze runs along the edges and within the first two rows.

I should have brought my camera, it was such a pretty site.

Belleayre had (I believe) upper Winnisook open with tons of pow and moguls last friday- easily the best run on the mountain and I was lucky enough to be one of the first dozen or so to hit is as they only opened it up mid-day. However, that was over a week ago and I'm sure it's nowhere near as nice, and the moguls are probably carved away.

In my trip report for Hunter (1/14/07), I go into depth on where to find the moguls.

In summary:

(1) deeper/bigger moguls, full-formed field: Eisenhower Drive
(2) less-deep moguls, pretty-well formed field in a couple places: Wayout
(3) short mogul stretches: Hellgate, and I think Minya Konka but I could be remembering wrong there (I think there was something on the F lift with a short stretch of mogls)

I concur here. I was there yesterday. Skiing was great despite the rain. Wayout was the place to be yesterday with fun little bumps. Yes, there were some bumps on Minya at the turn. Some more on Lower Crossover. Broadway had some easy low-angle bumps as well. Better hurry though (as in today) as I wouldn't want to ski many of these lines after the hard freeze coming...

Exterminator had some HUGE moguls on it. but they where not in any pattern that I could make sense of and there was alot of sheet ice in between them. The snowmaking that was ongoing top to bottom helped alot but it was mostly DOC. FIS had some large icy unfriendly looking moguls on it so I respectfully declined.

Glad my report proved accurate and that you seemed to have a good trip :)

Stowe had what I'd call "beginner bumps" forming on Cliff Trail down into Nosedive. Nothing special, but they were consistent enough for me to ski the trail 3 or 4 times in a row to work on getting into better shape for an upcoming trip out West.

Wow, are you a party pooper loafer89.........

The bumps on exterm were patternless ??? Come on, that was standard exterminator. Nice and icy, especially skiers right, snow guns screwing with the vis, had to love it. Not really huge bumps as the loafer mentioned, but they were certainly fun and worth skiing. Then there was the rocky entrance to bravo, the snowblown, iced headwall, complete with small 8' launch into some more hard bumps, and the rocks lurking below. Finally, FIS was its usual fun, where you could virtually see your reflection (had it actually been sunny). I really enjoyed them all quite a bit. Grabbed 35,000 verts (I know Greg, you always question this) on Sat (and arrived at 9:30 am), with a 10 pack of exterms, 6 or so bravos, and 5 FIS's. It was standard Jan eastern mogul skiing, gotta love it.

Monday, even better, woke up to NO DUMPER, then some nice sleet, zero vis, moved the snow guns on exterm so they were more of an issue. Still had a fine day, only 27,000 verts (I know Greg, getting old..) and still drove home in such a nice amount of freezing rain and sleet.

Oh, I forgot to mention hitting lower hammerhead repeatedly (until those pesky red coats had to chat with my buddy and I) with about 10 - 12" of blown in pow, that skied pretty nice.

Wonderful weekend in the east, snow much fun that we'll just have to do it again this weekend. Should be much better and yes, again they are calling for a storm.........but that is an eastern storm, so make sure your edges are sharp.
