most ski areas that open late nov./early dec. post there opening day. But i dont think that helps you. The ski areas that open early(killington, okemo, hunter, sunday river etc) just wait for a long cold stretch to start making snow(probably first or second week in nov) They cant predict cold weather that early in the season to have a positive opening date.

It pains me to write this, but awful is right. What would be the point of posting an opening day now? When it's cold enough they'll make snow.

Attitash made mention of an 11/25 (Friday after T-day) opening here:

I don't think we'll see many definitive opening dates until early November, I'd imagine.

I saw a concert there once. I think there are a few who have been here. Not in the plans for me.

Ill do anything for decent turns that early in the season.

Heh, from personal experience I don't think Woodbury qualifies as "decent turns"

I think its mostly set up as a park and thats fine.
I'm not a park skier. Best to those who are. Parks are helping bring people to the mountains.

Killington or Sunday River will be my 1st turns I believe.
I have Veterens day off. So if Nov 11 is opening day....I'll be there for opening day. If they open earlier then I'll be a few days behind. Powderhound21 if Woodbury opens 1st you can possibly post our 1st trip report.

I'll head to to Killington the Monday after they open and make it a 4 day weekend. I will not go there on a holiday, especially with a grand total of 3 (real) trails open. No way.

personally i would rather go for a hike...

or maybe i could go and work on my mad skills in the park, perfecting the rail to faceplant, and the 180 to backwards tumble. Or my old favorate the land to far forward to the summersault, which made for some awsome cracks in the front of my skis

What about This place?. If you look at the info page it says they are usually open by November first. Many of you may know about my trip the beginning of November. I waz wanderin if anyone had any info or anything like that on Woodbury.

Woodbury likes to make headlines by being the first to open each year. Their idea of 'open' is a little lame IMHO though. They blow a small patch of snow about 100' long to open. Just my opinion, I've never been and I work about 20 minutes away...
