Or simply "Pisssed", if you prefer... ;)

So - how are you coping? Are you still skiing? Personally, I think I've turned the corner and I'm shaking off my case of "Pisssed". It's been roughly a month since I last skied and for a few weeks there I was feeling pretty melancholy. Starting to get psyched for summer plans and activities and thoughts of next season are already creeping in. All in all, I'm better now and I think I'm going to make it... ;)

Here's to 2006-07!

I think the only thing that makes me "pisssed" is the ski reports I read after I end my season. Hell, we have to deal with it till June now *cough* rivercoil *cough*. Once we actually get some decent weather in here (WTF is going on, it's colder now than in January!) I'll be fine. It won't really hit me again until early November. Basically, I "fuggedaboudit" within the next couple of months, the excitement of the near season sets in in October, and the "OK, let's go already" feeling comes in November, once people are skiing again and I'm not. The good thing: I'll have my license for ski season this year, but it might not help me get out any earlier. I can hope for 1 trip up to K early on though.

I'm seriously considering a trip to Chile in August, so I can just say that my ski season actually hasn't ended ... or would it be more correct to say that this one has ended, and the next one is starting early?

Otherwise, though, the thing that most saves me from PSSSD is baseball, as I'm a huge Yankees fan (as my handle might indicate). But even with baseball I still want to ski. One great day in memory was going to ski at Killington on a Memorial Day weekend when they still cared about being open, and then listening to the Yankees beat the Red Sox on the radio in the drive home. And then getting back and having a BBQ. :)

I'm in about the same place as you, accepted the reality of it all and trying to make the best of the upcoming warm weather...

I'm still trying to get out a couple of more days although plans seem to fall apart much easier this time of year. I've also been getting out on the road bike a good amount and just bought a new mountain bike. I have a lot going on, but that doesn't take away from my wanting to ski.

I ski until the lifts close. Then I hike (without gear in tow) to see the snow under my feet and throw a snowball. Around June I finally give up. Last year I hiked Memorial day with Mike P and we got a bit of snow on East Osecola. Heck there was bit of sleet in the notch yesterday and we had sleet at our condo yesterday afternoon.. My family came in from their hike.... Ice in the hair.:argue: They did not find it as funny as I did.

This past week was my first without at least one ski day since Hunter opened on 11/19/05.

I am totally freaking out and will do so for at least another week or so. I'm like a caged animal.

I put up with summer, barely. Sure, there are things about summer I like, but overall I'd rather it just stayed winter.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

My last day was the sat before Easter at Tucks. It sucks knowing I have to wait until November. Looking forward to cliff jumping this summer I guess. Looking to hit red rocks - 76 feet!

I haven't skied since last month at Hunter. Plus it's been raining so much I can't even work on the vette. I wasn't happy about not getting in any spring skiing except the 3 hours at Hunter, until I took a spill and ripped my arm out. So now I'm back at the gym a couple times a week taking out my frustrations on the weights. The weekly car shows will kick in soon so that will help a bit.

Not frustrated here, except that it's still to muddy to play in the outdoors, especially with this rain. I'm looking forward to summer....hiking, camping, going to the lake, etc. Winter will be back before we know it.

Ending the Season at Sugarloaf was both good and bad for me psychologically, good in that I finally made it back to the loaf, bad that I came back to a green home. I am watching everything here turn green, and I just cut the grass for the first time today:flame: :smash: . I really miss that place after I leave, someday I will have to buy a condo/second home there.

I decided at the last minute over the weekend to visit Mammoth, since I will be in Las Vegas for a week in early June. This will be my first experience with a record snowfall since skiing at Timberline in May of 1999. This is helping me to cope with the warmer weather to some degree.

I suffer from PSSSD, but I think I have found the correct medicine to get me through the "off season":

A daily dose of ski discussion boards combined with a hardy dose of ski memorabilia hunting and website development. This is enhanced by frequent dips in the pool, trips to the flea market, lost ski area excursions, participation in a community band and other outdoor activities. While these do not cure all of the symptoms, they do make it easier to cope.

You're crazy - I've looked down from the top of that one on multiple occasions and just wondered who the whackjobs are that jump off that one. The 40 footer is plenty for me. Too many people get hurt because they hit the water wrong off of 76 - I've heard many stories of seperated shoulders because their arms were in tight enough and I even heard of a broken back (ouch!).

PSSSD is a serious and pervasive problem. I think we should have a Telethon with ski celebs, and Tee shirts and some trucked in snow. With all the money we collect all AZers can fly to the snow and become cured.

Till then I’ll have to try to settle those withdrawal pains by watching with some of my ski porn. I have a modest collection of 18 movies so I don’t think it’s going to get me though. I will have to fill in the gapes with MB, Kayaking and Roller Blading etc. If I get really desperate I suppose I could do the remodeling my wife wants, but that is way down on my list.

I am already so pisssed, I planned out next season already. I will be seeing Wachusett a lot more next year than I do already. I'll change the day I went to Mount Blow to Ragged and the day I went to Jiminy to Berkshire East. There will be an extra trip next year: the Burke/Jay trip I missed this year. Otherwise, it'll be the same, possibly bookended by an early and late visit to either Killington or Bretton Woods.

yeah, the car shows. Forgot all about those. I used to be a member of the club that ran Bellmore. Maybe its time I start fixing up the camaro again.
