Not pissed yet. Hopefully will get some turns in this weekend.

Then a May trip to A-basin and some BC north of Steam boat.

Salavage some snow in Tucks in June.

Then August trip to Portillo... Talk to me in the end of Augst, I might be getting a little upset then.

I am already so pisssed, I planned out next season already. I will be seeing Wachusett a lot more next year than I do already. I'll change the day I went to Mount Blow to Ragged and the day I went to Jiminy to Berkshire East. There will be an extra trip next year: the Burke/Jay trip I missed this year. Otherwise, it'll be the same, possibly bookended by an early and late visit to either Killington or Bretton Woods.

Do you just tell you parents what to do?

It's not just my parents. Much of my family skis. I think I took 2 trips total with my parents last year.

It's something to do while waiting for winter.

I plan to ski this coming weekend and maybe will hike for some turns after that. I did that last year and I was the one to convince Andyzee and wife to come up to K and hike for some turns.

HEH!! Good one Greg. I was extremely pissed until I attended Wa's finale cookout, shook hands with management, walked through the lodge and soaked it all in. Closure.

Until that point...the "angst" of "Maybe I can squeeze one more day trip in" was omnipresent...and making me pissed.

I've been busy having fun working in/on the yard/house every weekend since then...and have not suffered from being pissed.

I forgot about car stuff. I spent alot of time this winter when I wasnt skiing redoing the entire suspension/ brakes on my 1991 BMW 318is to get ready for auto-x season and a DE at NHIS in August. Anyone want to go a speedracer with me at an event this summer? Its good fun and you learn a ton. Its amazing how much you think you know about driving until you get in a car with an instructor.

Sugarbush will reopen this Saturday and Sunday with skiing on FIS, Elbow and Rim Run and downlading on the GMX. The forecast is for pretty sunny skies and 50 degree temperatures at the base and 40's at the summit. Ticket prices will be $10 and anyone buying a new season pass for next season will ski for free on those days.

Win, nice of you to give us an update. I think it's great that you are making an effort to pesonally communicate to your customers. So, how's the snow? :)

Firm in the am and we got a dusting up top last night. The forescast for Saturday and Sunday is looking pretty good. It will still be cool at night on the Summit, but if the sun shines like predicted and the temps get into the 40's and maybe 50's up there, we could have a fun final two days. We'll groom Elbow and Rim Run and FIS will have the bumps you see on the homepage.

I am badly PSSSD off these days. Already got season passes....and now I have to wait 6 months! Arrgh!

I have been torturing myself by reading the TGR board. Maybe I should avoid it for a month or two.

It will be better once I can go hiking and camping, but I have obligations to stay in town for the next few weekends. I think I'll get running shoes and maybe a bike this weekend....if I'm outside being active, it won't be too bad. I hope to learn to surf this summer, which should be fun.

I finally got halfway decent at boarding this season -- nothing spectacular, but much improved. I'm already thinking of goals for next season. I want to be more graceful in bumps and tight trees and to get bigger air with more steez. Maybe next season I will finally get into the backcountry, but I think I still have room to improve inbounds.

There are many trails I never got to do this winter because I never saw them open. Shockwave at Sunday River, the snowfields and the backside at Sugarloaf, and Devil's Fiddle at Killington come to mind. (I know the Fiddle was open; I just never got out there in midwinter.) I really must get out to Stowe for the first time and to Sugarbush when it's all open.

Pre-Ski Season Stress Disorder

Or simply "Pisssed", if you prefer... ;)

So - how are you coping? Are you still skiing? Personally, I think I've turned the corner and I'm shaking off my case of "Pisssed". It's been roughly a month since I last skied and for a few weeks there I was feeling pretty melancholy. Starting to get psyched for summer plans and activities and thoughts of next season are already creeping in. All in all, I'm better now and I think I'm going to make it... ;)

Here's to 2006-07!

This condition can manifest itself a few times a year. Usually, late-summer through fall is the other common time. In these instances it's called: Pre-Ski Season Stress Disorder. You can continue to use the "PSSSD" acronym however as all symptoms are roughly the same...

I have a horrible cast of Pre-ski season stress disorder. Namely on my last day of skiing last year (seriouslly, last day. I was on my last day of the ski trip out west and my local resorts where already closed) I hurt my knee and don't know If I can ski or not now. My gut feeling is that I'll be able to but it still sucks not knowing for sure.

I think the best cure for me would have been a late Spring out to Whistler or a summer ski trip to South America..I need to budget my money better this year....

I last skied on April 22nd at Stowe...more than 4 months ago..

In the skiing vs. Sex debate...I always go with skiing. I can get a prostitute or pick up some trick hoe at the club if I was desperate for sex but skiing right now would involve a ton of travel or money..

i was in this exact same boat going into the beginning of last season. I had totally tweaked out my knee in early march. I didnt go again that year until i gave it a last shot in april of 06. took like 6 or 7 runs and my knee blew up to the size of a grapefruit. I spent all summer and fall wondering if i would even be able to ski in '06-'07. Its a crappy feeling. Like a black cloud hanging over your head.

Good luck, hope it works out for you.

Ok, here is my story. If anyone has any opinons on it please chime in. Even if it's "time to get knee surgery, dude"

I was coming down the East wall at A-basin when it happened. I had skiied that run 3 times already that day and was rather enjoying it but this was just a bad run. You ever have one of those runs where it seems like you completly forgot how to ski? Well, I hadn't untill then and let me tell you it sucks! I fell 2 times with in 50 feet got up and started again and my legs just stoped responding one ski came up out of the snow and the back of it caught on the snow and stoped twisting my knee. I felt it strectch but didn't feel a pop. Then I fell on a rock spraining my thumb. I said ouch, made sure my thumb wasn't bleeding straped on my ski's and skied for another 4 hours figuring I'd excaped injury (except the thumb which hurt like hell). At the end of the day (great afternoon of skiing BTW) I took of my gear and rode from A-basin to our hotel right outside the airport in Denver. When I tried to get out of the car I realized that I was hurt. It had stiffened up in the car and I could barely move it. By morning there was a bruise on my leg just below my knee. I was limping for about a month. I pretty much tried to stay off of it as much as possible from when it happened (in march) untill May then I started trying to use it again, some light roller blading and going for walks and at first it would me sore the next day but not swollen. In the last month it has been pretty much healed except for an ocasional twinge which could be in my head cause I'm worried about it. So what do the masses think? Am I going to be able to ski? Got I hate Pre-ski season stress disorder. You are my support group!!
