2knees, how'd it turn out for you? Are you skiing again?

Seems to be doing pretty well:

Sigh......that was my last day on skis. Not helping my PSSSD watching that again.

Ok, here id my story. If anyone has any opinons on it please chime in. Even if it's "time to get knee surgery, dude"

I was coming down the East wall at A-basin when it happened. I had skiied that run 3 times already that day and was rather enjoying it but this was just a bad run. You ever have one of those runs where it seems like you completly forgot how to ski? Well, I hadn't untill then and let me tell you it sucks! I fell 2 times with in 50 feet got up and started again and my legs just stoped responding one ski came up out of the snow and the back of it caught on the snow and stoped twisting my knee. I felt it strectch but didn't feel a pop. Then I fell on a rock spraining my thumb. I said ouch, made sure my thumb wasn't bleeding straped on my ski's and skied for another 4 hours figuring I'd excaped injury (except the thumb which hurt like hell). At the end of the day (great afternoon of skiing BTW) I took of my gear and rode from A-basin to our hotel right outside the airport in Denver. When I tried to get out of the car I realized that I was hurt. It had stiffened up in the car and I could barely move it. By morning there was a bruise on my leg just below my knee. I was limping for about a month. I pretty much tried to stay off of it as much as possible from when it happened (in march) untill May then I started trying to use it again, some light roller blading and going for walks and at first it would me sore the next day but not swollen. In the last month it has been pretty much healed except for an ocasional twinge which could be in my head cause I'm worried about it. So what do the masses think? Am I going to be able to ski? Got I hate Pre-ski season stress disorder. You are my support group!!

Kero

i know what you mean. i tweaked my knee pretty hard in april, and continued to ski on it for another 20 days (it was just too good). pain is pretty much gone but i can still feel weakness and it cracks a little more than i would like. really hope i can get 100+ days this year without major injury. lots of excersise and a bit of denial should make things right.

lol sorry man. Your situation just brought back my own angst from 2 years ago.

It worked out fine, no big problems last season.

Just so it's clear, there was no nastiness (except at my knee) in that sarcasm. :)
