Probably a bit early for this thread, unless of course it's already your best season which it is in my case...

Best yet. Lots of breakthroughs in my skiing this year and many more days (and cheap!) than in the past. Couldn't be happier and can't wait to ski even more this season :)

..... Practically no snow until January. Are people sure that the 'Best Season Ever' isn't forgetting this:

Can't possibly do this yet. There are still six weeks left at least - and I live for powder and spring. Could be my best however if the snow lasts. Every day was a quality day so far, no cheapies.............even the early ones, although they were fewer and far between before mid January. Obviously better than last year, far from the worst year. Every year seems to be getting better because I think we learn more and know how to enjoy it more....................

I'm definitely sure. I got some great skiing in before MLK Day, and since then it's been awesome. It's already my best with more greatness to come, I'm sure.

Guess I'm still bitter about having to get my and my sons skis stripped and redone after 2 trips. :-D

And that picture just screams to me how suck it was during the thaw of 2007.

On the other hand, it was neat skiing in london pea soup fog as the snow went direct to mist, and wearing no jacket. :)

Good things come to those who wait...last week at MRG was simply epic, 5 straight days of tremedous powder/tree skiing. Very likely 5 of my all time great days ever.

Here in the east, each season has its' up and downs. This year it started with a big down, now we have the big up.

So, maybe not the greatest ever overall for me, but certainly a great season so far.

Thaw? I don't think it ever really froze before MLK Day... ;)

Wow, how can you guys say best season ever???

My skiing career has not been that long (14 seasons). I've only had 20+ days the past three seasons. These outings have made it the best so far:

Even if it ended right now, it would be the best I've had.

OkOkOk, so it didn't thaw, it simply melted the fake unfrozen stuff everyone made to desperately try to make up for the total lack of enthusiasm by Ullr. :-D

Even if it ended right now, it would be the best I've had.

Allot of people are saying they had more fun this year, even if the weather wasn't great. Wonder exactly what caused this. I had a blast at times this year, but the weather sucked for Southern NH, but allot of cover was man made.

I wonder if it was a matter of SKI areas doing better, even though the weather itself was the sux.

Don't think I should vote since I've only been skiing for a few years. Season was best ever but I don't have any big seasons to compare to.

Overall, the season for me was too short. Didn't have the benefit of any epic weeks like some AZers.

On the plus side, I have much better boots this season and I think I made some good progress on technique.

I'm basing my rating of this season on # of days out and skiing technique/terrain breakthroughs. Before this season I didn't really touch the bumps, so that alone has me extra psyched about this season.

I would vote for this -- greatest turnaround ever. No way can I call this the "greatest season ever" though.

I guess you can't say overall that it would be the greatest season ever, I meant it as on a personal level. For me, thus far it has been the best season ever:

  1. It's only my 6th season.
  2. I'm on pace to beat my record of 44 days skiing from last season.
  3. Just got back from an epic trip to Utah, where we recieved 7 feet of snow during our stay.
  4. If in you're case the season is really good, but not your best ever, then you can always go with the option previous to that one.

Well, the V-day storm made this one of my best seasons, plus I'm on track to break my record for days skied.
