You guys are on crack if you think this was the best season ever, but it certainly turned out to be pretty good considering it sucked hardcore until mid January. For that very fact alone you cant say this season was alll that great. We were skiing grass in mid-January, most of you seem to forget this.

reading comprehension isnt one or your strong suits is it? nobody, as far as i can tell said it was the best season in terms of weather. you have some people who havent skied for 25 years saying it was their PERSONAL best season for a variety of factors.

I can understand english perfectly fine, I just think its inaccurate to say this was the best season ever with weather the way we had. I understand that some folks got out more than they ever had before, or progressed much further in their skiing, but to say its the best season ever is just wrong. Think how much more they would have done, or how much better their "best season ever" would have been had we had a normal winter? See my point?

Well, getting to ski about 2 feet of light fluffy powder multiple times this season is a rare treat in this part of the country. I was able to be up for all the big storms, so I got a lot of days of incredible snow. This season was short, but the days we did get were quality days.

I'm revising my previous post to a little better than average. The cold January followed by the V-day storm plus some of the more recent storms have helped me forget about skiing on 10 ft wide manmade ice trails in Nov, Dec & early Jan.

During the best seasons, I really wasn't skiing that much for whatever reason. I can remember in the mid-late 90's when N NJ had close to 20 snow storms and lots of cold weather. Unless these were strictly southern storms that year must have been epic. I also remember a few years ago (say early 2000's?) when I started skiing Plattekill that they had some insane amount of record snowfall the year before. That must have been an epic season as well.

This season was a horrible act 1 (good thing for snowmaking) followed by a great part 2. Works out to average in my book.

while there's more to come ... so far i'd rate it average maybe a little above. based on the last 2 months one of the better ones. but 2 months doesn't make a season ... let's put it this way, prior to mlk it was a leading contender the worst ever. 200" of snow (at killington) is a pretty mediocre total and does not a great season make. and looking ahead to the spring, it looks like we're heading to an early meltdown and the base depth on superstar is lowest i've ever seen.

nonetheless some highlights include a great trip to chile in august with a day that was the closest to heli-skiing that i've ever experienced AT a ski resort. a great western trip including great pow days at beaver creek & breck. and st. patty's weekend at k, which was probably one of my top 5 best all-time weekends at k where the sunday was close to the my best ever day at an eastern ski resort.

so yeah plenty of great days and more to come. every season has up & downs and this season was a study in contrasts - a real stinker that turned great. so overall because of the last 2 months, maybe above average - certainly better than the last 3 - but best ever. NOT ...

Our season was average. Our trip to Vermont made our season as always. We usually get a couple of weekend trips to WV or NY but they didn't happen this year. Mrs. Buckeye started a new job, so days off were limited. We've had a couple of places close down over the last few years(one in PA, one in OH) that we really liked so that has also cut our days on the snow. Condition wise every day we did get out was really nice. So bring on next year.:daffy:
