Bump for a specific question.

Any mountains known to be open during the week next week for kids vacation?

Killington for sure. Talk about Wildcat going another week on top of this. Breeze may have the Scoop here.

We will not be open during the week next week. We are open every day this week through Sunday, April 22nd and then will reopen the following weekend. We will assess at that point and see if we can have a final party on Cinco De Mayo. This weekend looks like we will finally have some Spring Skiing - warm temperatures, corn snow and even some sun! With still a ton of snow on the mountain, it should be great skiing and riding. The snow set up better last night and we had a fresh three inches at the summit. The ungroomed still needs to dry out more and get skied in, so I would recommend staying on the groomed another day.

.

I don't have any scoop today about Wildcat extending past 4/22. Remember, I didn't have one last time, either, until it came down from higher places.

95 inches of snow in April makes conditions ‘too good to close’

CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine - Record April snowfall totaling 95 inches, including 3.5 feet this week, has prompted Sugarloaf/USA to extend the skiing and riding season one week. The resort’s new final day of lift service will be Sunday, Apr. 29.

“With this much snow, the skiing and riding is just too good to close,” said Sugarloaf’s President John Diller. “Sugarloaf is renowned for some of the finest spring skiing in the industry and this year is going to be something Sugarloafers will remember for years to come.”

As of Wednesday, Apr. 18, all of Sugarloaf’s 134 trails are open, including the fabled Backside and Frontside Snowfields, glades, and trails with base depths exceeding 4 feet in many places.

“All this snow is reason to celebrate and we know of no better way than to get out and enjoy it on the slopes of Sugarloaf,” Diller said. In addition to copious amounts of snow, this weekend’s weather forecast is near ideal for spring skiing and riding. Sugarloaf’s forecast calls for sunny skies and base temperatures in the low 50s both days.

From Apr. 23-29, lift service will be provided by the SuperQuad and the Timberline chairlifts to offer access to all of Sugarloaf’s terrain. Grooming will be limited on weekdays and recommended for skiers and riders who are comfortable navigating Sugarloaf’s blue square and black diamond terrain.

Ski and stay packages are available from now through Apr. 29 for as little as $59 per person, per night and include on-mountain lodging, lift ticket, and access to the Sports and Fitness Center. Call 1.800 THE LOAF or book online at sugarloaf.com.

About Sugarloaf/USA Ski Resort - Located in Carrabassett Valley, Maine, Sugarloaf/USA is recognized as one of the top ski and golf resorts in the world. Sugarloaf/USA is part of the American Skiing Company family of resorts which includes Sunday River and Sugarloaf/USA in Maine; and The Canyons in Utah.
