I know, I know. Plenty of season left. In reality, probably 6-8 weeks for me and maybe a dozen+ days. And these days will likely be among the best with warm temps, sunshine and soft spring bumps.

Still, I can't help but feel that awful depression of the end of the ski season looming. I actually get sad when it happens and while I do enjoy the warmer months, and stay very busy, I start to long for cooler weather sometime in June. Skiing is on the brain every single day of the year for me and the summer months can be tough.

This season has been great for me and so far has felt longer than most, but knowing I'm in the final 1/3 kinda sucks...

Times two..I've had plenty of depressed days in April when I know it's just about the end of the season..but I try to just enjoy every run and make new skiing memories...I sometimes feel guilty when I miss a ski oppurtunity..but it's all about fun.

Myself along with many others on here take our skiing seriously..

At least you have season left, right? ;)

I've been pretty depressed the last 3 weeks about the looming end of the season. But what are you going to do? Most of us have too many responsibilities to be chasing and endless winter.

The best part of the season is yet to come and I expect to get another 15-20 days in from here on especially at Sugarloaf/Sunday River and with 5-10' of natural cover this year May skiing looks very possible.

Last year I got in 12 days just in April and 2 in May.

Get in your car and take a ski trip to Western Maine for a weekend, the amount of snow on the ground is astounding and you will bounce right back into that winter grove.

I know and empathesize -- it sucks

I do feel blessed tho,, we just got a MONSTER dump , I mean MONSTER, no ice or rain . I still have snowbanks in my driveway over my head------------- so we'll be FINE in the Northern Dacks for quite awhile > It may only be 1250 vert BUT we'll be sliding for some time unless a HUGE and sustained meltdown occurs

But then Hey its time for golf and biking

Yeah, that is true. I guess what bugs me the most is that our little local haunt will be closing in about 3 weeks, with likely a ton of snow left on the hill. My guess 100% side to side coverage. I guess that means I'll just have to travel a little it further and hit Hunter and VT.

Greg,

I don't know your financial/vacation situation, but wouldn't it be fun to have a ski trip planned to South America in late August, right about the time skiing is most distant in North America. You could probably do a bare-bones ski trip for a couple of thousand bucks and you'd have something to look forward to all summer.

Hablas español? :)

Si.

Not in the cards though. Come late April/early May, I'm done until November. I'm just grumpy today. Coming off my big week-long vacation up your way and after yesterday's deluge, I just feel like the end is approaching too quickly. Luckily, I'll be back in the MRV in less than 2 weeks. Sundown mogul comp next weekend...

I'm still going to make as much of this season as possible, but, I'll be happy when it ends. With my wife's injury, it's been the worst season yet.

You could always sign up for the April Jib Camp. I know Brian will be working at least one day of the 2 camp sessions.

We've still got a couple of months left with the best skiing of the season still to come. I look forward to warm days, soft snow, and tailgate parties!

Yeah, this time of year can be bittersweet. We all know the end is coming, but we all try our best to squeeze every last ounce out of the season. Personally, I enjoy this time of the ski season best, with the warmer days and soft spring bumps. If we are lucky we can also catch another powder day or 2. I am shooting for a mid-April ending, maybe a bit longer if everything plays out right. Here's to one less layer of clothing and more sunscreen!

I hate it when people start wishing for "nice weather". I am being punished, being sent this week to a very hot island. Not the way to spend a week during ski season. I'm hoping for the March/april dump like we got last year.
