How about a few random pics?

Double bird smoke on Saturday. I'm getting used to this smoker now that I'm using it more often. I'm taking the "set it and forget" approach. I use the thermometer just in case...but now, just putting things on in the AM and taking it off around 3-ish. This smoke went from 9AM to about 3PM. Two just under 5lb birds. I also threw on a "Jimmy Dean" sausage. I've read about this on the smoker boards. The lingo for that is "smoking a fatty." A lot different from what I remember in college...but hey.. It came out pretty good! But the chicken really delivered.

Bowl of tasty:

I did things a bit differently with the wood. I was using bits of large branches from an apple tree we have in our yard in CT. This time, I used large sections from some apple wood a tree guy gave me. I started cutting by hand, but that took was too long. So I broke out the DeWalt compound miter and had multiple rounds in about a minute in a half.

Brought the quad up and did some exploring. I need to meet some more locals to get the low down on the trails. I'm sure they're still a bit leery of the "new flatlander people."

The town stops maintaining our road at a certain point. So there's about a 1/2 mile of "softroading". We took the Jeep down it a few times.

We went to Willmington/Dover on Sunday.

Waiting for the light where 100 meets 9:

Thanks everyone! It was the first weekend we actually did a bit of relaxing. Not that I don't mind the house projects, but it did feel good to kick back a bit.

LOL! I had never seen that salad dressing bottle either before this weekend. My mother in law brought that up.

I'm hungry now!

A-frames are cool. Always make for a 1970's skiing flashback.

Skier/rider traffic thinned out a bit from when we were there in the morning. Nice TR report Glen!

PS - Read in something about Wahoos going franchise while up there this weekend...

You know, Wahoo's was surprisingly high tech for a small burger shack. The girl taking your order used a touch screen computer...which I assumed spit the order right out to the people running the grille.

Thanks guys. The A Frame is cool and certainly different from a traditional house. It's neat having the walls and the ceiling all in one. The space on the main level is a bit tighter than usual; especially in the bathroom and the kitchen, but nothing you can't live with. The lower level is more of a traditional layout and more open.

The house was built around 1966 or 1968; definately has that kind of late 60's early 70's "vibe" to it. The back of the house is probably the orginal color. The siding is stained brown in the trim is orange. For those of you from Western Mass, it's very "Agawam-ish"(where my wife grew up).

They don't build em like they used to! The roof joists are solid, uncut boards. 2x6" They have to be a good 25'+ in length. You just can't get lumber like that now. The roof is really solid! The roof deck looks to be 1x4" tounge and grove. I had to replace a few shingles and they appear to be the orginals...and still in decent shape. Under the decking is another layer of tounge and grove; 1x8" or 1x10". The roof is so solid, you can't even hear the rain hitting it.
