I really hope Katz vanity searches his name and comes on here to see these posts... I think he may find them funny!

probably not, but oh well
If I mysteriously disappear you’ll know who suspect number one is. 🤣

I can honestly say that in almost 20 years here the comic relief has been a lot of fun.

every ski area puts a little snowflake next to the trails they are making snow on. Except vail. It’s kind of infuriating as it seems they aren’t doing a damn thing to open terrain. It’s nice to plan out a weekend trip based on which trails are getting snow made on them, especially during a week of below freezing temps.
Truthfully what they need is CONSISTENCY in their snowreporting across all of their resorts. Some of the Vail properties will list out, in their daily snow report, what trails they are making snow on. Others don't. That should be an easy thing to address, and one that while not all of their customers will find useful, I am guessing that a fairly decent amount will. The folks in CO, need to learn, as they seem to slowly be doing in some instances, that how they go about things for their Western portfolio of resorts, doesn't always work for their Eastern portfolio of resorts.

Even if it's something like "We're currently making snow on A,B,C & D and if the forecast holds, we HOPE to be skiing and riding on them for the weekend...." would be an easy step up to do.

Some of the decision makers in CO, should really spend a few weeks in the East, if they never have before, to get some 1st hand knowledge, which will lead to a better product, and might actaully help with their pass sales as well... Just my 2 cents

He'll no....
Biggest reason I switched to PC from Alta bird is how easy it is to get there...and 7000 acres full of lifts. I rarely wait on lines once you get past the lower lifts.
I laugh when almost everyone says...why aren't you at Alta?
.

Park City really is the easy button of skiing. Other than the horror show parking can be on weekends, but that's everywhere now, and partially by design. But yeah, I cant imagine risking getting interlodged 10% of the time, and especially with a toddler. Seventh Circle of Hell? And if I ever want to go on a "safe" time, it's only 50'ish minutes away, assuming I could find a reasonable lift ticket; I cant justify $150 or $180 for a single day.

Between the Epic website and at resort, I feel they are always trying to be sell you something

Oh, constantly. Every email, sign, or touch is an upsell attempt. All current efforts are for driving ancillary income. Meanwhile the snow report is non-existant, their customer-facing communication is poor, and the prices for anything non EPIC pass are stratospheric.

EDIT: I will add, however, almost every PC worker I've met has been a respectful and nice person, I just find they often dont know what's going on. When I worked at Stowe (pre MTN) I was much better trained/informed.

I mentioned some pages back that I believe this is intentional.

That way you have no way of knowing when they started, how much they're doing (or likely NOT doing), or even when they decided to "slow down" or end.

And when they return to the corporate office every single one of them would recomment selling all the eastern resorts!

I think by now, it's pretty obvious they're running their eastern properties exactly as intended and to expect improvement (the number 1 being snowmaking) is foolish. At least in NH anyways. It's year 4 now and if anything, they've gone backwards.

I think that one interpretation is that people buy the Epic pass, use it, but are not so keen to buy food, drinks, other items. Vail’s model was to use the latter to make money. If everyone is skiing/riding but not buying then no money.
