They were all over by saddleback in the afternoon. I saw plenty of ski patrol too, but the Pines were so good later in the day

If it's the same Helly Hansen yellow retro looking coat/vest ensemble the ambassadors at Mount Snow are sporting this year, they so remind me of the multiple Spyder and Phenix vest/coat hybrids I had in the mid/late 80's through the later 90! 🤣🤣

North side of Saddleback in the Pines area face is one of my all time favorite (to date) places to ski in fresh snow
Saddleback is now my favorite chair anywhere. The Pines are great, but I actually prefer The Aspens to skier's right. Last year I was "confined" to this chair many days because the beginner lessons are near the base of that chair, and since the clinics for 3 & 4 year olds are only 2.5 hours long, there wasnt enough time to venture farther than Tombstone or Super Condor, so often I'd just stay there and lap Saddleback for hours, almost entirely in The Aspens, The Pines, and then Elk Ridge, which is a bizarrely (for where it is) lightly trafficked mogul trail which is simply fantastic.

It is a great pod, decent vert, quick lift ride and great trees that go almost the entire length on both sides. And Elk Ridge is great for fresh snow the farther along it you drop into the liftline.

The strike is on.

So the Line is drawn in the SNOW right before New Years!
PARK CITY, UT –
Today, the Park City Professional Ski Patrol Association (PCPSPA) is on an Unfair Labor Practice strike. Instead of clocking in to work this morning, nearly 200 ski patrollers and mountain safety personnel hung up their jackets and formed a picket line in solidarity to amplify their fight for better wages and working conditions. Vail Resorts forced this work stoppage by bargaining in bad faith and repeatedly violating the National Labor Relations Act. Consistent with Vail Resort’s bad faith tactics, the company has refused to give a counteroffer on wages or benefits in the last 2 weeks.
It has roots to spread across multiple mountain Operation groups in the future.
PCPSPA is not alone in this fight for respectful wages and conditions in the ski industry: the strike comes as calls for good-faith bargaining with Vail Resorts are echoed by unionized ski patrollers at Keystone Ski Resort and lift maintenance personnel at Crested Butte Ski Resort.

Their website says open today? How operational is PCMR right now? If YOU decide not to ski something is very wrong.

Well
On canyon side the bunny hill is open and 1 lift with access to 2 runs and 1 ungroomed area.
Self preservation....i think the other 2 lifts will open later..so maybe get some in then.

If they dropped their ridiculous year round benefit and parental leave demands Im sure they would’ve gotten their $23 an hour. I think they should get paid more but its also dishonest that they never mention their other demands and are making it sound like all they want is $2 more an hour. Plus its laughable to act like that is a livable wage in one of the most expensive towns in the country…
