I don’t know why people are acting like lines on a Christmas week pow day are due to the strike. I’m sure every resort around had crowds, my buddy was at Alta and it looked insane there. And by 12 Saddleback was a five min wait max. I get them wanting better wages but I think they’ve overplayed their hand. Another thing that isn’t being mentioned is that not all PC ski patrol is in the union plus all supervisors and managers in patrol aren’t union either. So its not like no one at the resort knows SOP or how to do avy mitigation, also a decent amount of the scabs are from CO/CA resorts where alot of the same conditions apply. Online they are making it seem like the entire scab force is from Jack Frost or Mountain Creek.

On a more serious note than lift lines, it took people 3 hours to get from Deer Valley to the Silver Springs and/or Kimball Junction area of Park City yesterday due to traffic. This is a roughly 6 to 6.5 mile distance! You should 100% avoid Park City from December 24th - December 31st!

If it's the same Helly Hansen yellow retro looking coat/vest ensemble the ambassadors at Mount Snow are sporting this year, they so remind me of the multiple Spyder and Phenix vest/coat hybrids I had in the mid/late 80's through the later 90! 🤣🤣

They have had these same coats are Hunter for the past couple of years. Last year they were all laid off mid season, but they, courtisy patrol?? are back this year.
MSnows Ambassadors (volly pos) wear Red Northface jackets.

Yellow HH color scheme is “Mountain Safety”….it’s a small, paid unit reporting to Ski Patrol.

The entire Mtn operational force will have new uniforms from HH next year with differing color schemes that denote separate functions. Ski Patrol will be only unit with red as part of uniform.

The uniforms should have the name of the mountain they work at. Having Vail on the back is so dumb and shows how cheap they r.

At Hunter, most jackets say Hunter, however there are many Stowe jackets this year. Last year there were a lot of Okemo, but have not seen any of those this year. Asked a foreign worker if he had worked at Stoew, and he said he had never heard of it before he was handed the jacket.

Most Instructors this year were given blue matching pants. Looks classy, just like at Vail.

Sounds like a gondola from Deer Valley to somewhere on or near to Main Street's gonna be approved soon. I'm for it.

Then use some of that incoming Olympics 2034 cash to connect it to PC then to Canyons then to a big parking lot near the outlets.

I have a bizarre love for gondolas though so I'm biased.

I’m pretty sure that project is going to be privately funded.

after 30+ years of skiing ( even $15 Park West lift tickets) I try to avoid it Jan 1- Dec 31st. I did love Saddleback, Chair 5 double fall line and Charlie Brown, not to mention Scotts Bowl, etc. but since the combination took place it's been awful every time I went.

To some extent, I guess this happens everywhere at some point. Aspen, Vail, certainly the 'Hole, but where does it all end? Can't have every great hill become a mega-resort, can we?

And people wonder why backcountry exploration has become 'mainstream'.

There's too many people that ski at those resorts currently so lets build a gondola so we can squeeze some more people in? Not sure I see the logic in that.
Adding more terrain like the Deer Valley expansion at least will mitigate the overcrowding on the slopes.
