Snow preservation maybe? Pretty warm and wet, and then temps will plunge. Dont want ski tracks to freeze in…

I probably skied by you or stood beside you in line. There were some nice treats here and there. Most folks stuck to the groomers.
Hate groomers....
The ebt was insane..saw a guy trying to walk it..then the wind blew him off it...people stopping suddenly..turning around..
Oy....

Apparently there's a significant power outage at Canyons shutting most of the lifts today, but the Ski Patrol Union messaging is the lift closures are due to lack of ski patrol personnel due to their strike.

This Union might be almost as bad as Vail.

Power typically gets restored relatively quickly. PC said before 9:00 am basically nothing would open at Canyons. All of the "flat" lifts not below avalanche terrain are open. All of the lifts in avalanche terrain are closed. Read that how you will.

The top of OBX isnt under avy threat, and it's closed. I dont see how Saddleback has avy risk either, and it's closed. There is a ridgeline above Saddleback, but I would think it's probably far enough away (and with a bunch of trees) that that's not under serious avy risk either. I've certainly never thought of that as avy terrain anyway.
