Hey folks.

We got inundated with requests for new AZ Challenge resorts last season. Regrettably, Greg and I only got to a few. Based on what we have done for the last two seasons, what resorts do you want to see? What do you not want to see? Small, large, and medium resorts are welcome!

If you have a resort of interest that we have not covered, list it. If you work at one or have an "inside contact," please feel free to PM me or Greg with that person's contact info and feel free to refer them to the site!

Also, feel free to contribute other thoughts to the other AZ Challenge Thread.

Cheers!

I'd like to nominate Ski Sundown. There was a lot of talk about the mighty Sundown this season and I met a few AZers there. I know for a fact that several folks in Sundown's management monitored those threads so I'm sure I can get them on board. It truly is a little gem of a ski area.

I'm really most interested in some of the resorts you've been having regularly and which seem to give straight forward answers -- MRG, Sugarbush, and Jay.

Additionally, I think having Gore and Whiteface could be good, not only to please those who ski in the Adirondacks more than the Greens and Whites, but because both resorts have potential major expansion plans, and it would be nice to be able to learn more and ask questions about them.

Then there are the various resorts that have been sold recently (I think Magic, Crotched, and Burke? Of those I've only been to Magic). It might be nice to hear from the new ownership.

What kcyanks said, I couldn't agree more.

Magic is great suggestion. Anyone know any contact info for the new owners yet? Sledhaulingmedic? Chris Bradford at Crotched will definitely particpate, I'd imagine. I think David is still at Burke. We'll check.

I still would like Sunday River, Sugarloaf, and K involved. Loon again,Maybe they will be more interested with the expansion plans in the news. Booth creek and Asc have a lot of pass holders around here.

 And who says that there is NO interest in the 'Challenge? In ten minutes, we've gotten five great responses here! Some great suggestions!

I would like to see the Bush, MRG, Smuggs, Jay, and Stowe - all of the big players in the Northern VT scene. I feel like there are a number of people that have at least been to the following, which would lead to more informed questions and hopefully more insight into the resorts.

Maybe we could even get Win to do the challenge himself...

I'd like to see the following places I head to for day trips:
  • Crotched
  • Pats Peak
  • Sunapee
  • Gunstock
  • Ragged
I don't know if there's any interest, but it may be interesting to have one or more of the "feeder hills" like Nashoba, Blue Hills, etc. participate.

Any chance of getting Tenney to participate? I'm sure they will get some good questions...;-)

There's great interest for me. I like getting my questions answered at the resorts I ski alot, plus I like hearing about those I've never been to. It gives me ideas for trips. I think it's my favorite feature in AZ, Jeff the boot fitter is #2.

Well, we are probably going to talk to Pats, Crotched, Sunapee. We will have to see what we can do with Gunstock and Ragged. Nashoba: good idea. Blue Hills: probably not likely given that they are not really around in the summer, but heck, you never know. Wachusett would be a good one. Sky--you got the hook up?

Roy Nilson or Tom Meyers could do it for Wachusett. Likely the latter as he did the 2004.

Windham might be one to add since they have a new owner and big changes going on. Questions were tough to come by last year but like I said they have alot going on this year.

My highest priority on the "to see" list would be Black Mountain of NH.
I would still like to see Tenney and Ragged...
What about MRG or Jay.
Cranmore.
Blue Hills would be good too.
What about Bretton Woods?

I will *probably* be moving to the Manchester, NH, area, so I'd like to see Pats Peak and Crotched, as one of them will likely become my new home ski hill.
