I'm gonna try to hit MRG once a week midweek.

Should be @ the Bush the other 6 days. Looking for 140 days or so this season.

Yes, its right under the gondola. Once your off the gondola go past the summit restaurant and shoot a right turn down that super wide trail towards the magic carpet, then its on your right.

And make sure you take either the Sauna cabin, or the Business luxury cabin on the gondola. You plan to stay at the Ritz Correct at the bottom, correct? So you can load on the gondola from inside. Shoot me a line when you come, and I might descend from my 32nd story penthouse at the Ritz to join you for a bump run or two.

Honestly I kinda doubt it. Not that I don't like the place because I do, but when the conditions are good enought to want to ski there I have a hard time driving farther than I need to to get decent vert. Last time I was there was 2002 ish to meet some old friends which was cool but the place was bullet proof. Still had a blast but my knees hurt like a bastage.

Absolutely, especially as redemption for last year. Must've hit the MRV on the absolute 2 worst days of the year except for those first few runs on Castlerock on AZ day. Let me tell ya, MRG is one boring place when all that's available is Upper Antelope to Easy Way. I need an order of Paradise this year with some Fall Line on the side.

Thanks... I now have Eddie Money stuck in my head... "Two tickets to Paradise" ... when I finally make it to MRG, it'll probably be stuck in my head all day.

"Got a surprise especially for you,
Something that both of us have always wanted to do.
We've waited so long, waited so long.
We've waited so long, waited so long.

I'm gonna take you on a trip so far from here,
I've got two tickets in my pocket, now baby, we're gonna disappear.
We've waited so long, waited so long.
We've waited so long, waited so long.

I've got two tickets to paradise,
Won't you pack your bags, we'll leave tonight,
I've got two tickets to paradise,
I've got two tickets to paradise."

This thread just reminded me that I need to submit my APR and see when an upcoming work day is scheduled. Should get there about a half dozen times. Mad Card for three weekend days, probably two or three mid-week days when the snow is good, and shareholder day.

MRG is totally legit..any AZ snowboarders thinking about renting skis for the day and hitting MRG???

I'll put a pair of skis on and school you at MRG... :)

Actually... I've skied there... like 20 years ago and have telemarked there a couple times more recently...

Nah. They catering to bump skiers that have a full bag of tricks on natural snow rather than one trick ponies. :stirpot:

natural snow and natural bumps suck. You cant find perfectly uniform lines that stay true to the fall line!

From the "Movie quotes turned into ski quotes" on Epic...

Terence Mann: Ray, people will ski Ray. They'll come to Mad River for reasons they can't even fathom. They'll turn up in the parking lot not knowing for sure why they're doing it. They'll arrive at the single chair as innocent as children, longing for the past. Of course, we won't mind if you ski, you'll say. It's only $35 per person. They'll pass over the money without even thinking about it: for it is money they have and trees they lack. And they'll ski Paradise; hit the woods all afternoon. They'll find some glades and fresh track,. And they'll ski bumps and it'll be as if they dipped themselves in magic powder. The snow will be so deep they'll have to brush them away from their faces. People will ski Ray. The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been Mad River Glen. America has rolled by like an army of groomers. It has been groomed to cordouroy, tracked up and groomed again. But Mad River Glen has marked the time. This mountain, this single chair: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will ski Ray. People will most definitely ski.

I've got my first Alta trip already booked, last week in February. This would be a great season to finally get to MRG...Visiting the Western and Eastern High Holy Shrines of American skiing.

Question: How crowded does MRG get on "Turn Back the Clock Day?" I'm looking to take advantage of as many discount ski days as possible.
