I've got my first Alta trip already booked, last week in February. This would be a great season to finally get to MRG...Visiting the Western and Eastern High Holy Shrines of American skiing.

Question: How crowded does MRG get on "Turn Back the Clock Day?" I'm looking to take advantage of as many discount ski days as possible.

Too crowded. Better off getting a Mad Card and skiing when you want.

Why aren't you in Colorado?

I am, right now. My classes end October 31st, and then I head out for a 5 month cooperative work experience. I'll be grooming @ Glen Ellen. Then I have a full semester of classes to complete in one month, then I graduate.

I disagree. I've been to 2 "Turn Back the Clock Days" and did not find them to be too crowded. It always the last Tuesday in January so there's not big crowds. More crowded than your average mid-week day for sure but still not bad. And for $3.50, it can't be beat. Just my $0.02.

Congrats on almost graduating! Did you think of doing your cooperative work experience out west? I mean I'll defend eastern skiing to death, but given that you were already living out there . . . .

Oh yeah, I thought about it. Was looking at Winter Park, Beaver Creek, Heavenly, Mammoth, and a few other odds and ends. As great as the skiing is, VT is home, and I have a personal attachment to Glen Ellen. Besides, I'm tired of mile-wide western highway-trails and boring powder bowls. I'm ready for some NE packed powder and skinny, winding trails!

Last year Liftopia had a special midweek @ MRG. I think it was called mogul master. If they do it again this year I want to give it a shot.

I wore a MRG shirt to work today. 8)

I have to break mine out.
I wore my MRG Tshirt last night, and watched Born From Ice. That picked my spirits up!!

I hope you have two bathrooms. Between Alpinezone and Epic she is gonna spend a lot of time on the throne.

You have a MRG shirt, but you've never been there? Now you definitely need to go so you can justify wearing the shirt.

I have a A Basin hat even though I've never been, but I don't like wearing it. I'm always afraid someone will ask me a question about it and then I'll have to admit that I've never been and look like a goober. Guess I'll just have to make it out there... ;)

did not find them to be too crowded.

"crowded" is a relative term. Because I'm usually wasted from a black run, I usually look forward to standing in a small line and riding a slow lift to get a little rest. On the greens and blues with my family, I never had much of a wait on the lifts servicing those areas.

I always get my fill at MRG, even if they don't get me to the top in 3 mins.

I am looking forward to the day when I can let MRG kick my butt!

As for your A-Basin Hat. Wear it with pride and tell them that your loving wife got it for you when she went on an amazing trip with her hot girlfriends. ;-)

Ah yes, we can't forget Phil! ;)

No wonder why he never wears that hat....

TC - You MUST make it to MRG! I'll get up there and join you for a run before you ditch me for the fun stuff. I'd offer you my couch, but I think you already decided being poked in the eyes by my 3 year old at 6AM while she asks "are you awake?" wasn't your cup of tea. ;) (Then again, you'd probably be up an hour before her, surfing Epic, AZ, and SD anyway ;))

I missed out on our planned trip to MRG last year. I will go this year.
