Okay......put your cell phones (especially that stupid looking thing stuck on your ear, you look like a reject from a trekkie convention) your blackberry's, especially your family walkie-talkies and your notebooks, back in the car(or most likely an SUV with a fancy Thule pod with your 12 pairs of skis).

Move away slowly from your vehicle and proceed to the mountain. Be strong. Ignore the free wi-fi signs and the other fools who are in the same trap your giving up for the day.

If your not skiing or taking a long break, that's what the bar is for...if you have kids that's what ski school is for.

After skiing you can go back to your self induced under the thumb umbillicle chord connected anti-relaxing life you lead. Try it for just one day.....

Way to generalize.

How about you let each one of us decide for ourselves whether or not we want to bring technology with us onto the hill...?

I leave my cell in the car... and drive a car... but I have a fancy Thule pod... with 3 pairs of skis (not my family's).

I proceed fast toward the mountain away from my car...

Long break? If any, it's a quick jaunt inside to wolf down some chili... no more than 10 minutes...

After skiing I'll go back to trying to fit in as much skiing into my work time while still making my bosses happy and sticking at the break even point of the radar ;)

...

I'm psyched about the wifi and it's not a bad thing, it's an inevitable thing - it's not like each person doesn't have a choice whether they bring a laptop or not... like I said, this means I could spend a week up in the mountains and instead of going to the gym during lunch I can go for a few runs, not use vacation days, and work with a view! :)

...it's only a bad thing if you let it bother you that others are on their laptops in the lodge. Honestly, better for us... less people pushing snow off the slopes ;)

I know it was made tongue in cheek. I saw the winkie. Doesn't diminish the fact that I thought the comments were a bit lame. But don't worry; I'm not losing any sleep over it.

And I'm not the first person to have an exchange with the Tin Man, online master of condescension...

I don't care what people say..

I have the opportunity to ski everyday... But only if i can stay connected to work when they need me..

So it's either ride with a cellphone or sit at home and watch everyone....
Easy choice for me.. i rode this morning for a couple hours with my phone... nobody called.. - it was great..

And relax... i keep it on vibrate and only answer certain numbers...
