While you post about wi-fi availability, it is also interesting to know
how actively it is advertised by the mountain.

In case of Attitash, they even have "Free Wi-Fi Internet" icon on their trail map.

In case of Wachusett, I don't think they advertise their free wi-fi at all.

agree with gmc.. WIFI is the LAST thing on my mind on a ski day, regardless of my adult responsibilities. I've got more important matters at hand.

In principle I agree 100%. In reality, a few weeks ago I was able to take a weekday off for skiing only because I knew I'd be able to check in with work during lunchtime. So if my options are no skiing or skiing while having to deal with work during a break, I'll take the latter every time .... (that also was the first time I've rented a locker in I don't know how many years.)

I'm skiing to get away from everything, not so i can bring it with me, besides, what good does it do me there?

I telecommute and as long as I have my computer and phone working anywhere I'm golden.
I would LOVE to spend a day at the lodge working, skiing a little in the morning before work time (~9am) and taking a lunch break to ski a few runs. And if they have night skiing then all the better!!

Thanks for the idea, why didn't I think of that already!?? :D

Pulled a first during the AZ Hunter gathering on 12/14. I planned on taking a vacation day but my boss told me that if I call into a conference call, I don't have to use a vacation day. I agreed, the call was supposed last an hour, it lasted two, I had my headset. During the second hour I put on my helmet and skis, jumped on a lift and started skiing. Was great, ski and work at the same time! The other folks only complained when I forgot to put them on mute

I've answered my cell phone on the slopes to find it was my boss calling. He always seems distressed that I'm not near a computer, despite it being an honest vacation day. If I was somewhere with wi-fi it would be bad for me. :)

Those are the cases where 1. You do not admit to the resort having wi-fi 2. Shame you couldn't answer the phone, but you were in an area with no coverage.

Where in you case you are looking to stay away from work on days off. In my case I am hoping to get some skiing in on days that I work

Work comes through as "Restricted" on the call waiting. If I knew for a fact it was them I'd never answer! :D

This is extremely true! Although I've started to wonder how many runs I could get in at Wawa first thing in the morning and still get to work at a reasonable time...

I've been working in IT for many years...it wasn't even called IT when I started

I am the biggest anti-technology person you will find

Hell I still use my turntable (because the sound quality is better, for one reason)

Last thing I want is to even THINK about a damn computer when I'm skiing

Beer, now that's a different story

I love taking vacation trips to the north country... although if it's skiing then there's not much of an excuse since most resorts have good reception for me.

This is why I don't give work my cell phone number. I really don't want to be bothered.

That deserves some kind of AZ award.
