Not even close. I've only skied there once, but I've seen locals launch off the trails into areas that would kill most people without missing a beat.

MRG Snowboard Ban Debate = Dead Horse.

BAAAH!

MRG --- home of the insecure skiers who can't handle it when a snowboarder out graces them in the bumps.

"This isn't the way it should be."

"I have an idea, let's ban them."

"Agreed, now we are better skiers."
Go take an English class and get back to me when you can put a coherent sentence together.

I just got back from a morning at mad river. They have 4" of new snow on a very hard base with ice here and there. It was being scrapped off pretty fast and I was still sliding around on the ice underneath the fresh pow.

Sucks it was icey... But it's reassuiring to hear a report of snow getting scraped at an area that has no snowboards...

Note to self:

Make sure to take dmc on next fishing trip, especially if we're trolling  .

When your relegated to Intermediate trails at MRG - like I am on Telemark skis... You see crappy skiers at MRG...

The woods.. Well that probably a different story...

When I was there I skied only marked trails, some of them intermediates and I saw good skiers all over the hill. But that was only one short visit - I'm sure there are crappy skiers there all the time, but their presence is in no way related to the snowboard ban. That just doesn't make any sense. The horse is stinking now.... ;)

Never said it was - just my observation..

Always maintained that everything negative that everyone accuses snowboarders of happens at MRG..

Thats all..

Not trying to say anything bad about Betsy - or the stakeholders opinions.. They are certainly allowed to do what ever they choose...

Geez Skibummer. I can't figure out what is more scary. My obvious lack of education on how to use the English language effectively, or the fact that, despite my glaring incoherencies, you are able to figure out exactly what I intended to say. I mean, if I can spew absolute gibberish but you still can understand it, Great Scott, you must be a clairvoyant. So i got a question for you, don't you think you're wasting your time on these fourms? By God man, shouldn't you be out there solving crimes or reconnecting loved ones with those who have passed over. They need validation!

Oh you know I kid. You can probably tell by now that that I have had at least an 8th grade education. Yeah, I kind of didn't show up a lot of the time, and when I did I was usually whacked out a post hairspray-huff hangover. So you got to admit, I can write pretty well for an eighth grade drop-out with mild brain damage.

And now, I will make an admission of my own. Of course, there are talented skiers at MRG. Anyone disputing that would only undermine their credibility. My point is that generally, these skiers are insecure. I am trying to think of another mountain that markets itself as being such a snobbish challenge -- I can't come up with one. Don't you think that is curious? MRG is a hill that advertises the egos of its clientele, with its conspicuous slogan "Ski it if you can." Why is this necessary? It seems as if was really diffifult, little would have to be said --- everyone knows the most challenging places to ski (or board) don't have bumper stickers.

I don't think it's the ussual snowboard vs. skier path.. It's more "your grammar sucks" kinda thing... ;)

I was mearly making an observation.. MRG is a great environement to disspell all the stuff riders get accussed of.. Because it all happens there too... But only skiers do the bad stuff...

Sorry, that was a bit harsh Big Game. I didn't mean anything by it. I'm just sick of people hating MRG just because they choose to exclude certain methods of sliding downhill.
I don't see how you can claim that someone is insecure merely because they ski at a certain mountain. Perhaps they like the terrain and the atmosphere there and don't care what anyone else thinks. Maybe they like the fact that there is very little snowmaking and grooming and prefer to ski those types of trails.

The most challenging places to ski or board don't have bumper stickers because you have to hike to them. The exception is Tuckerman's which has T-shirts, posters and other paraphernalia.

Anyway, back to the point of the post, we need more snow badly. This little storm did a bit to freshen things up but is not even close to what is needed.

No worries bro, I've certainly done my share to be provacative...I got to be able to handle it when someone gives it back. Also, I enjoyed writing my response just as much as you enjoyed reading it. Ho ho ho.

But yes, the real problem is the lack of snow. And we must remember who the real enemy is: Mother Nature. This dusting sh!t isn't doing it for me.

And there is nothing gayer than snowblades. (yes way more than ballet skis). O.k. a french horn is pretty gay. Oh, that gives me an idea for a great x-treme sports film. Have a couple of guys doodling away on their snowblades. Hitting all the rails, skidding down backwards, holding hands. The soundtrack is what is key: Have a french horn tooting merrily away. Toot toot toot. Man that would be a big seller. Yeah, snow bladers, anyone of your wimps got a problem with that?

Wanted: snowblade rack for my moped.

That has to be one of the funniest things I have read in a while...
