Another glorious day of skiing on the last day of March. No pics, too busy skiing today. Skied from 9:30-3. It was snowing at K when I left. Turned to rain by the time I got to Rutland. Really an amazing March!

Had no intention of skiing today till I saw the forecast for a warm sunny afternoon and decided to take a chance. Parked at Jordan at 11:30. First few runs were soggy but that changed around 1 as the clouds dissipated to spring temps and sun. Everything skied really well with an inch or two of heavy snow on top. I hit 40 today at Snowbird. I guess above photo will cover today and next time I go:)

Huge snowbanks all around the base at Snowbird these days, and another 2-3 feet coming in next 48 hrs:

#79 today

46 - ragged
18 - loon
8 - sunday river
3 - pats
2 - attitash
1 - sunapee
1 - king pine

Awesome day, top three on the season but I am biased towards spring slush bumps. Angel street definitely run of the day, legs are hurting.

The ride to the condo was pretty sporty. Heavy snow all the way there with quite a few accidents all over the place. By the time I got there I was kerploopt. Traveling from VT takes a while.I hate connecting flights.
I knew it was going to be deep...didn't know there was a patch if ice in the plaza where the concrete is not heated. Went down really hard. It hurt like he'll but I felt OK to ski.
Knee deep off the Saddleback chair. Hit 4 runs off that then went over to Tombstone for a tree run. Knee deep again. Everything is so buried its like a totaly different place. The snow is so high up on the trees.
On the runout the pain hit and almost floored me. Made it to the lodge and got patrol to take me to the clinic. The pain was pretty bad.
X-rays showed nothing broken..probably bruised ribs. They gave me a a shot which helped a little.
So now I'm on the couch, probably till tomorrow. This sux as it's going to warm up through the week and get gloppy. Today is probably the last day for true winter snow.
1 little thing..can fuck up your week..20230404_133750.jpg20230405_094102.jpg20230405_094104.jpg20230405_094111.jpg20230405_103404.jpg20230405_103406.jpg20230405_094107.jpg

Imagine being at Alta or bird..closed 3 days now...2 hours ago another avi rolled across 210...insanity...
I would go stark raving mad trapped up thereScreenshot_20230406_154629_Chrome.jpg

That whole situation with the Cottonwood roads is beyond nuts and such a turnoff for vacation. I get this is an unusual season but this happens every year and vacation days are precious. Deepest pow ever is no good if I can’t get to it.
