Went up Sunday to check the skiing out and to position for the forecasted 5" snowfall. Plenty of snow in the trees and on natural trails. Lots of ice too and a few snow snakes. But better than I expected. It started snowing at about 2pm but kept switching over to ice and rain. Kept doing that until I lost interest and went to bed. Woke up Monday and saw 4" or so on my car. Monday morning was stellar.

Snow of the day was in the light. I had to laugh when I found out Belleayre got 8"!!

Monday was good at BW, with a bit of goggle icing to deal with. Tuesday was even better with an inch or two of fresh and snow falling much of the day. Lots of glades and ungroomed in good shape.

Another bluebird day, not quite as warm which unfortunately left most of the good stuff unpleasant to ski. Still has been a decent day to just take it easy on the groomers. The girlfriend certainly enjoyed the change of pace after crushing it the past few days. Definitely would give this place another try with better snow.

I skied 10 days in January. Almost all weekday mornings at Mountain Creek (one was a Saturday morning, passholder early access before the crowds showed up). January 19th was fantastic because it had snowed a few inches during the night and was snowing the whole time I was there.

Great powder day. Parked at Snowbird. Did a couple laps off Baldy and then headed straight for Alta. Snow was way better there. Spent most of time just lapping off Wildcat and Collins terrain.

Drizzle at my house. Drizzle all the way to route 28. Drizzle all the way up to Highmount. Snow as soon as I turned into Belle and snow the rest of the day. An inch or two made the already nice conditions even better. Belle has continued making snow in many places. They have also left many trails bumped up. A few glades and trees were open. Coverage still bony in the trees but doable. The bumps on Mohawk were the place to be.

1031.jpg

As I finished changing at my car at the end of my day at 3:30 the snow stopped. At the bottom of the access road there was blue sky. Good day.

Only about 7 inches of new snow in the last 48 hours, but it made a big difference as way more than that blew into the woods. Pics from "The Aspens", and for whatever bizarre reason there was nobody skiing there. Pics are from 3pm and there still lots of untracked lines all over.

Another 7 inches overnight, and supposedly 10 to 20 more inches coming in the next few days. Things are looking up.

The latest lift ticket haul. No Stevens Pass since I have a pass. Only went 1 for 4 on new areas since Blizzard, Snowhaven and Cottonwood Butte were closed. Got every type of weather...rain, spring, frozen and finally ended with some powder. Great trip!17072573179387405347529680200623.jpg
