Average season so far. I've already equaled my days from last year, but at 5 that's no grand feat.

I've been pretty lucky with snow, and have gotten decent conditions. The only "poor" day was at Bretton Woods the Sunday of MLK, and it was frozen groomers due to the high temp being -9. Even that wasn't horrible as it was only day 3, so I got to bomb some runs and work on my ski legs.

OK. pleasantly surprised at times at the conditions. 16 days on the hill including 3 legitimate powder days. no complaints but hoping for some big storms in feb.-march.

I would give it a C, but a huge letdown after last season. Days are down a little bit but the home mountain has gotten to 100% open. (although no bumps yet) Christmas was better then 2006 but not by much. But like a midterm grade in school there is still plenty of time to make it up and the 2nd half is when I get the most skiing in anyways. Hopefully spring will be king this year:cool:

I know where spring will be king in the East.

This. Snow conditions are what you make of them.

You must be in mountain operations.

I don't think things have been quite as bad as 06-07 but a close second. I see indications of another possible storm mid February so the pattern is very similar.

Season could have been better, but not sure I could have been at a better place in the East.

Still skied in October. 32 days out so far. Not at the 1/2 way point just yet. Grooming and snow making, Many had it rougher than me. skifane, and riverskier and I all seem to feel about the same. Might be something in the water.

Only bad season is one with an injury. So far so good. 4 day weekend coming up.

I've got 17 days in so far which, looking back, I had 18 at this point in the season last year. Last year my season started in November though and this year it was mid-December. So number of days on skis is almost the same, it's just the quality that is lacking, but I'm still having fun. I just have to stop checking the 10 day forecasts because that is always depressing this season.

Seeing as I'm still 38 days deep into my season I'd say its not been bad, sometimes you really gotta scrounge to find a redeeming part of a day but its always there...its all about how you approach it I guess. I have prob a zero chance to reach my goal of 85 days but I have re-thought it and now think I can still get to 65....?

I'd say pretty good...season was really slow out here as well so the past week was amazing skiing but it has definitely just been groomers up to that point. Hopefully it keeps coming and the days just keep getting better. I'm happy that I've seen some different terrain and experienced some different mountains..I really only skied Killington all through college and didn't do much traveling to ski at that point so in that aspect I'd say its been an exceptional start to this ski season for me

I've only been out 8 times, but each time was a lot of fun and I've been really impressed with the snowmakers. I do really miss natural snow, but I'm trying to be optimistic about February and March possibilities. Due to my schedule and budget restrictions I haven't been able to get to the hills further north as much as I'd like. With all that in mind, I give it a "C," for now.

I've had a great season. 26 days or so...all type of conditions, I have not left the hill disappointed once. It's all what you make of it. I seek out snowmaking trails, live on the side of trails or lap one perfect trail all day.

I agree with this 100%. I always have a good time on the hill even if I'm not skiing my preferred conditions/terrain.

That said, I can still look at things objectively and state that this is the worst start to a season I've every experienced in my 29 years on skis. Worse than 06-07 IMO

I think the fact that we've had a run of some pretty darn good seasons the past few years contributes to why this season seems so poor.

The one benefit I've noticed this year due to the $h!tty weather is no crowds! So that's made it somewhat bearable. Of course, I'd happily deal with the crowds in exchange for a couple of big storms (where it actually snows).

This year we have had some cold periods. In 06/07, sustained cold never came until late Jan. Sunapee had only 4 or 6 trails open at the beginning of Jan. i skied Pats peak first outing on 1/7 that year and it was 70 out.

Been @ this for 35 yrs i can unequivically say : This is the WORST season EVER . I've believe strongly in Quality Not Quantity only have 7 days so far about a third of what we'd normally do .

That said they were 6 pretty damn good days and one that was bowel jarring iced up/death cookies .

So my midterm Grade =F . Subject will require STRAIGHT A's from here on to EARN the lowly regarded "gentleman's C" :D:D

In 26 years, by now at Feb 1st, I can say it is unequivocally the worst even including the one season in which a knee blew out on January 23rd. There is much room for improvement. I'd optimistically give it a C-. I have had some fun. I have gotten out. I've definitely improved my abilities in these less than stellar conditions by riding in the one car lane width of loose sugar at the trail edges. However, steeper / entertaining terrain has been limited, no trees / glades available, crowds seem more compacted this year out here, park rats are out of the park as there is no "booter", thin cover really f-ing up equipment, and last winter spoiled everyone.

If I include my perspective of skiing Mount Baker last Friday in knee deep fresh god made snow down insanely stupid trails that would kill someone without fresh snow on them, then the season gets a resounding D-. An F would be some sort of natural disaster equaling no snow at all.

Got a late start, but have kept to my plan of skiing with my niece or nephews this year. Have had a great time with them and seeing them really improve this year, hopefully we can get out more.

The season from a pure conditions point of view has been disappointing. The fact our kids are in a seasonal program is what has made us ski every weekend. For the most part we have been bagging hitting the MT on Sundays and doing some hikes/walks with the dog instead and heading home at a leisurely pace.
Hopefully things will pick up and we will get some dumps so the second half of the season will bring some better conditions.
