You could go a number of ways with this one:
1) Heat
2) Speed
3) View
4) Terrain access
I like the Slide Brook...The heated gondola at K are nice when its cold.

heat, speed, and view are rather irrelevent to me. terrain is some what important in a lift, but "best lift" to me mostly conjures up the aestietic appeal of various lifts. so you won't find any high speeders on my favorite lift list.

single @ mrg (of course)
zoomer and jet triples @ cannon and jay (gotta love those short dopp triples that access great terrain!!!)
kennabo tbar @ saddleback (service lifts rule, especially to great terrain)
poma @ burke (ditto)
double chairs @ black (nh), saddleback, magic (i <3 doubles and funky retro fits rule above all else)

I think the Wildcat express will cover all of the above better than any other in NE

wildcat express may be about the best high speed quad in new england in terms of speed and access to terrain with exception of the forerunner at stowe (not as fast but better terrain). though on most days, i would be just as happy riding the triple on lookers left and staying off the upper mountain. wouldn't put the wildcat HSQ in my top ten list, all things considered though. especially because it replaced the best lift that i have ever rode, the wildcat gondi, RIP!

The gondola at whiteface. Gets you half way up + half a run before you got to freeze on the summit lift.

not to mention those little factoids are cool.

The Castlerock Double is also a nice "throwback" lift I like the idea of spacing the chairs out to reduce skier traffic, it may suck waiting in line, but when its not elbow-to-elbow going down Middle Earth its soo worth it...Keeps the place nice and Secluded...Though I wish Heavens Gate was a HS Quad to get me to Paradise and outer Paradise easier (all in Due Time) Cheers

i dont think castlerock needs a vintage lift to keep skiier traffic down, I think the warning sign is plenty sufficient. And for those that dont heed warnings, well, theyre just blocking traffic for one run before they never return.

I also like doubles: The Valley House Double at Sugarbush and the East Basin Double at Loon. The Castlerock Double is undoubtably a great lift for the reasons mentioned above. The Diamond Express Double at Berkshire East is a trip (fast diesel powedered).

Slidebrook is fun. The Berkshire Express (6-pack) at Jiminy is great if you just want to rack up quick vertical. The North Peak HSQ at Loon was a great improvement over the triple for the same reasons. The Single at MRG is a classic.

I liked the old Castlerock Double - the lift line was the most challenging part of Castlerock.

My vote is for the Burke Poma in terms of ride, terrain access, speed, history, and view. Hold onto your cookies!

I would not say the Wildcat Express is the best lift in the east, in terms of my favorite to ride but when you consider the 4 catagories listed (heat, speed, view, terrain access) I think that it meets them the best. I guess it depends on how you look at it. Overall I would have to say that the east bowl double at Cranmore is my favorite lift to ride. Castle rock and MRG single are up there too, all for different reasons.

The MRG Single, Castlerock Double, Madonna Double, and Zoomer Triple for me. Wa's Summit Quad is good on uncrowded nights when you can get 10,000' of vert per hour if you go non-stop.

I've never been, but that doesn't say much about the terrain.
There really isn't much to say about the terrain at Wa-Wa. It is what it is - a feeder mountain and a place to go after work/school for a good portion of MA.
