I ride one board 90% of the time. Currently a Salomon Burner 163, but nothing will ever compare to my old Never Summer Titan 164. I think people put way to much into what board they ride though. Equipment really doesnt do all that much to make you better. It might feel better, but a shitty rider is going to be a shitty rider regardless of whats strapped to his feet. I also personally hate transitioning between equipment. Not that its hard or something, but it means Im thinking about my equipment while riding, something I personally cant stand. I want to just ride, not worry about my board, or goggles, or what have you.

I think its more important to find a board or ski you love, then pay well for it. Quality over quantity right? That being said I have 3, my old Never Summer (500+ days, no edges, rock board for retirement), and Burton S-Series 168 for backcountry. Each board is pretty much perfect for its intended purpose.

But like I said, I pretty much only ride one, and the others are the exact same board in terms of shape/feel. Find something that works, then stick to it.

Rossignol Phantom SC80 185cm ...

Have you taken a demo run on the Rossi S3?

I'm curious how they compare to the Phantom. I personally didn't like the Phantom but I've heard great things about the S3. I could use something narrower than my S7s for glades.

The Experience 98 is another one on my wish list. So many skis, so little time!

Wow. I almost went blind for a second there.....

Those are some long pieces of steel! You might be able to recycle them for a profit ;) It was way before we were mentally prepared to go shorter. I believe the real key in shopping for old Volants for use today is to find them in shorter lengths. They carve like crazy....
