If it goes anything like previous years, I'll end up somewhere between 5000 and 8000, maybe a little more this year.

For me..my love of skiing outways the cost 10-fold. At the supermarket I think twice about buying mad steezy jumbo shrimp or red bull due to the expense..yet I'll happily drop mad loot for skiing..I'm one of the few who would pay $100 for a one day lift ticket..because a day of skiing is worth more than that to me.

I have until November 15th for the early-bird rate on my Blue mountain pass which will be about $530 for an all-days Adult. It seems like alot for a 1000 vert PA mountain but at $49 for a weekend ticket..I get my moneys worth real fast. The toughest thing for me is deciding what gear to buy. It's tough for me to find the jacket, pants, ski boots, and skis..that I want. My buddy gets college pricing on Atomics because he's a racer so I might pick up a pair of GS12s in either a 176 or 183...It won't be long before I get first tracks up in NY or VT..there's a chill in the air..it might not even hit 70 degrees today.

2 Maine Silver passes and a family pass at Shawnee Peak. It is worth it, gets me a lot of days of skiing enjoyment. A lot of money, but I certainly couldn't snowmobile as many days as I ski for that amount of money. You're lucky to get a months worth of snowmobiling around here the past few years, but can ski from nov till early may! Can't wait.

Hmmm . . . good question.

$90 PSIA dues
$280 on PSIA events (Alpine Level III, Part II Exam and maybe a Level II Tele Exam)

Huh??!? Here in Canada it's $1000 just to take your level 3. Then, when you're at that level, it was maybe $300 a year in dues if you're teaching or not. That was the main reason I said "f#$K this" and is also the reason they can't find enough instructors and have level ones giving "advanced" lessons. It was my original interest to get my level 4 just to attain it, but what would be the point of attaining it if I wasn't planning on using it and it cost me $500 a year just to maintain my bragging rights. I think the current director of the ski school at my local hill is a 1-1. What a joke.

How Much $$

$1399 for my Alta-Bird Pass. About $5/day for gas (shooting for 100 days, so that is $500), $5-$8/day for food, another $1,000 for gear, and another $500-$700 for skiing other areas. So, I guess it will run to between $3,900 and $4,400. But then, who really knows, or cares? Is there anything else I should be doing in the winter in Utah?

I really hope that come the end of the season i have no idea.

Skiing is about the experience, the stories and the people you meet. There are enough times in life to balance my checkbook, i go skiing to think about other things.

Bumpity...

Well I just payed off both of my credit cards and I'm just about ready to take the financial plunge that is the 07-08 ski season...Yee Hah..I really want a pair of Pontoons..yeah boy-eeee
You'll get as much use out of those Pontoons as you would a set of spinners on your Suby...sure, nifty to look at...but dude, c'mon, spend your hard earned $$ on something you'll really get some use out of! Even a Hellbent would be a better ski for you...a Seth even better and still steezy...unless you've got some hook-up and you're going heli skiing for a couple weeks...the pontoon is sooo job specific.

more than I'll spend on bowling, ice fishing, television, cosmetic surgery, trips to florida, spinner rims, escalades, country music, nascar memoribelia, scrapbooking, knitting, doggie day care, pet psychatrists, tofu and any other thing I have absolutely no need for...combined.
