If you could pick just one run to ski all day, anywhere in the USA, what run would it be, where and why? It has to be a run that you could physcially handle for a day, so for me at age 50 that eliminates most blacks as I'm good for maybe 2-3 bump runs per day at best before the legs say stop..

Dollar for dollar if I had to pick one run to ski all day anywhere it would be Lynx at Wildcat.. Lots of Vert, Character, A great cruising run.. Great views, never gets boring

I find that the runs at the older hills like Wildcat, Stowe, the Loaf, MRG, etc, tend to have a lot more character.. You can find runs that are 'entertaining' at hills like Okemo and Mt Snow, but to me they don't have any character, it's kind of like dating quadruplets, they have different names but you can't really tell them apart..

I can't really define character as it relates to a ski trail, but I think you know it when you ski it.

I split my ski days about 50/50 east/west in fact we're heading out to summit county in a couple days, but in the character department, I think the east wins hands down.

my vote: Lynx at Wildcat

Nice natural snow bumps, good pitch, but not too steep. Yup. I could ski that run all day.

Of the trails I have ever skied.... probably Bear Trap at Sneaux. For a long skiing day, it's warm, usually soft, and they rock out. The only problem is that sometimes the lines on the lift can be long even with the trail is empty just from people trying to get back to the other side of the mountain.

parradise to ferret to upper/lower glade

Chute to upper/lower glade

Catamount bowl to lynx to beaver

Those would be top 3 all MRG

but when you have all the choices why chose just one?

MRG was the only eastern ski area I could think of that has any runs I could see myself skiing all day long. I like your first selection.

I have spent the entire day on Clairs at Hunter, well almost the whole day.
West coast would have to be Mineral Basin at Snowbird, but thats not really a run, or maybe it is.

I'm biased, however, because these were the only two glades I was able to ski on my trip to Jay last year

tough call, i really can't narrow it down to just one run, my mood varies too much.

i could cycle the upper single all day on fall line and be a very happy man. my gut instinct is paradise at mrg, but sometimes i get into a mellow mood and fall line is great because you can have a mellow run or you can duck into the woods and eat bark. any combo after 'dice works, no preference really.

on a good snow day, taft to upper to middle hard at cannon is fabulous. but you need two lifts to the top, so you can't really cycle that on one run all day.

timbuktu at jay definitely gets a nod. top to bottom glade on one lift, plenty of elbow room, generally mellow but lots of fun with some interesting options. there are steeper and deeper at jay, but for an all purposes all day glade, this is a gem.

but to top them all, yoyo'ing the east snowfields on mount washington on a near bluebird day was definitely my favorite day that i have actually done only one run all day and it stands out as extremely memorable with every run being outstanding. just superb.

I was going to say the same thing, Mineral Basin. It's hard to pick just one run, so it's kind of cheating, but I like it :)

So far this entry takes the prize for being most obscure. Thanks for puting this up though. I'm always looking for potential travel targets that are off the beaten path.
However, you cheated a bit! The original question limited entries to be within US.

My entry: Katchina Peak at Taos. It takes an hour just to get up there but the vertical pay off is good.

East: The Trials at Mt Snow - I love the multitude of lines and how the trees transition from pines uptop through birch in the middle and maples at the bottom

West: 94 Turns at The Canyons - A bumped bowl uptop, down through some aspen trees in the middle and a wide open field wih many ridges/gulleys at the bottom
