Is there a mountain you wouldn't ski for free?

If it (any mountain that gave me a free ticket) was close enough I would ski it during a "no crowd" time period.

Der Fondue Schuessel was a joke. Trying to cook raw food on the end of a fork in light barely adequate to see your plate, is not my idea of "fine dining." Cheese/Chocolate Fondue apre ski on a deck is fine. Raw chicken, etc. in the dark is a NO NO for me.

I found both resteraunts to be very good and they both get rave reviews. The Alpenglow Stubai is voted one of the top resteraunts in Colorado.

I guess any restaurant can have a bad night.

Yeah I guess that is true, we liked both places but did not enjoy skiing down the mountain on a full stomach afterwards:-x I really enjoyed the outdoor Zamboni maintained ice skating rink and I look forward to skating with my son.

Loafer if you are ever in the area give me a hollar and i will take you to the Peak. I am there 3-4 days a week usually.:daffy:

Thanks for the invite, and I hope to ski more of Maine now that I will be living in Northeastern Connecticut. Weekend trips to sugarloaf now look possible.

What is Shawnee Peak like?, it looks similar to Black Mountain in Rumford.

I use to think that I would avoid places with long lines and crowded trails. However skiing with the family, especially with a youngster or adult beginner changes things. I’m a little more patient and mellow when skiing with family members and will take any lift ticket free of charge.

Hard to imagine I wouldn't ski someplace for free. If the intent of your question is to ask what area would you probably never ski again 'cause you really, really don't like it, well that's another discussion.

Free as in no money out of my pocket (Holy dog crap "Free" is my favorite word)...as long as I did not have to hike uphill to get my "free" skiing id do it anywhere so long as there was decent coverage. I'm baffled by those on this board that would not take 2000+' of vertical for free (Ive seen Kmart, Okemo, Keystone, Vail and Beaver creek bashed on this board, the latter two by some one from Aspen saying Vail and BC are too Uppity Yuppie...hey aspen now has the highest price single family home on the market in the united states, not too many yuppies there I guess) life is short get over your hang-ups and ski it mid week when there are no crowds, I think every mountain, even those small bumps and rolls in CT, PA and MA and downstate NY have their virtues. The biggest factors in determining where I ski(snowboard) is the crowds, and whether or not I know the area well enough to avoid them. That being said a free lift ticket, so long as the tavel costs were within range, would be used in a heartbeat, operative phrase here is free gentlemen, free as in F R Double E ... Freeeeeee!

Id go without underwear for a week for one day of free skiing :daffy:

Hell, I'd do that without anyone....

Ahh, nevermind. I don't wish to hijack another of HPD's threads. I agree with the FREE setiment though. I don't get it either. FREE is FREE no mater how you slice it. You say I no pay, I'm a happy biped on boards.

I honestly do not care what kind of clientile a mountain caters too as long as I have fun with a mountain that has good quality snow/trails and skiing. I am not a snob and do not intend on ever becoming one and I ignore rude and obnoxious people who carry that attitude as it has no place on the ski slopes.

I went to Tahoe with a friend who scored us tickets to Diamond Peak,,,, I rode 4 runs and just couldn't take it.. It was way too mellow for what I want when I'm in Tahoe.. My friend couldn't understand why I'd blow off a free ticket when I said i was done for the day..

I just sat in the sun near the chair and waited for my buddy to get a couple runs in and told him I was getting in the car and headed to Mt Rose...
Which holds my interest WAY more then Diamond Peak...

Hard to imagine turning down free skiing. Now don't bother sending the free tickets to yawgo as I can ski all of ASC for free and live within 5 min of Sneaux i won't be driving far to ski a the smaller areas, but would spend a day at pokemo or other mid to larger areas even if they were not my favorites especially if I have 4 tix so the whole family can go.

Free is my second favorite four letter F word.

I'll check any mountain out for free. I may get bored with it, but I'd still ski the whole day, unless it was REALLY boring and there was something else alot more challenging nearby.

I enjoy places like Thunder Ridge, especially after a snowfall. It's 15 minutes from my house, on my way home from work, and it costs me $15 for a night skiing ticket. So you bet I'd go there for free, even with no fresh snow. A hell of alot more fun than sitting in my recliner watching stupid TV.

I think you guys who say no to free skiing anywhere are a bunch of snobs.
