How many runs can you remember as some of the best runs of your life. (spin off of Quality vs. Quantity debate) Personally, I have about 10 runs that I think I will always remember pretty well, and will define 07 08. The last day of the year was one of the 5 best days of the year...and that day have a few runs that I can really recall. Not super deep, but a sunny day with cold snow, and the perfect ammount of snow for the pitch we were skiing. I got pics of that day....

Day of the BMMC at KMart, Needle's Lift Line was in great shape, and I was mastering it. Had a couple runs where I knew I was impressing people on the lift (at least those that are easily impressed.)

There was a day mid-February that Outer Limits was in really good shape, and for most of the late morning/early afternoon I was lapping it, and only stopping to catch my breath. Not being impressive, but legitimately skiing the entire run with decent fundamentals.

Gore: First tracks down Darkside. Foot and a half of powder, ripping big off every cliff (well as many as I could) It was an early season dump so there was no bumped up stuff underneath, just bliss.

First 4 pow tracks down Rumer, may have even been the same day. All from below the headwall (snow didn't stick up there)

Almost forgot first tracks on a huge pow day. My mountain was closed due to icing? or was it wind? Oh well- hiked the local out-of comission hill a few times. Some more unexplainable feelings there. Also a nice core shot. It's all in good funn:snow:

Day of the BMMC at KMart, Needle's Lift Line was in great shape, and I was mastering it.

I did a bunch of Escapade/Flume runs that day. The conditions were quite nice. I wandered over to Bear with my day pack full of quart containers of pre-mixed and partied there until 3:50. The totally dead vibe there kind of spoiled the day. I was pretty blown away when the Smithereens cranked up at 3:00 and the first thing I heard out of the PA system was "POWDR sucks!".

I got a huge powder day at Mount Baker right before Christmas. The snow was deep enough that you felt like you were riding down an escalator as you made your turns. The place had seen so much snow that there were no bumps at all and you could just ski the fall line turning wherever you wanted. 100" base in December... only at Mount Baker.

New Years Day at KMart was memorable. It started puking in the morning and everybody left. By last chair, there was around 14" on the ground and nobody there to track it out. I basically spent the whole day in the trees.

I grabbed a midweek day at Eldora when I was in Colorado for some meetings the last week of February. They'd gotten hammered with snow and I was skiing thigh deep untracked frozen smoke in the trees on the skier's left boundary much of the day.

Killington in April had the usual amazing bluebird spring days. I spent a good slice of the last Friday/Saturday/Sunday they were open walking up the short connector to the top of Snowdon to grab turns on Northstar and Great Bear. I love skiing in sunglasses and a long sleeve polo shirt.
Here's a shot from April 20th on Northstar:

I got some good powder turns in last month down at Nevados de Chillan. I've had much better weather on other trips but there were two 1-foot+ dumps that made for some pretty good skiing. The place is so empty that you rarely cross any tracks on the powder days.

there was one bluebird day where i booted it insted of skining. got to the top looked around and i was the only one there. took a little longer to strap in and went right from the top, to the road without stopping once. i almost couldn't walked back to the car. i sat in the car for a few min sorting myself out. then went into the lodge and had few beers. it was the best run of the season. o and i didnt see a single set of tracks the whole way down. who says you can't have freshies at 4 on the day after?

I remember almost every run I took at Cannon on my best day of the season. I don't even think we hit double digits but man they were high quality runs, one and all. Some blue bird days on Mount Washington stick out. And two or three powder days in November and December at Jay were sensational. So about ten or so days stick out and I may vividly remember two or three a ways down the road.

Refreshing lines on Northstar at Killington on 12/4
Fall Line and Paradise at MRG on 2/8
Redline, Blackline and Magician at Magic on 2/28
Untracked on Middle Earth and powder bumps on Rumble at Sugarbush on 3/21
Ripcord bumps at Sugarbush on 4/25

Those are the stand-out runs for me last year

I remember last year... We got out in the morning after a fresh 8-10in dump overnight... We decided to go for a spot we've never been and never heard of anyone riding there... the topo looked good on screen... but you never know how things will be until you get there... When we got there, it was like witnessing pure Nirvana! Wow! Gorgeous birch tree glade... steep enough pitch... and the top part was "semi-open" skiing... Wow! After 3 runs we were baked... snow was light enough to puff... but heavy enough so that 10in felt bottomless. It's a long way to get there... but it was really worth it...

Looked a lot like the pics Dave snap on his special day...

Sunny and warm on top really helps while you let it sink in!

...but i have no pics... only GPS data!

Too many quality runs to count from last year, at least (100) and I think that's very conservative. Quality over quantity any time. I'm fortunate to be able to just take off whenever it snows! For starters I was there for opening day at MRG 12/6 and Magic 12/22 with a couple feet of untouched at both. That's about (16) right there...................not to mention the 12/3 storm at Mt. Snow when we were helping the ski patrol drop ropes on all the North Face! And that's before Christmas!
If this year is 75% as good as last year I'll be very ecstatic. Definitely spoiled after last year though.

Gulf Of Slides for sure

Great end of season turns in the Gulf of Slides. Meanwhile thousands were in the ravine.

Blackline and Master Magician at Magic last year. Unfortunately, i was too banged up to enjoy the prime conditions at sugarbush on the 21st and ended up bailing around 1:00.

That could go down as one of the worst skiing days of my life.

my most memorable day of last season was December 4th, 2007 @ killington, where deep pow was to be found all over the place (my first pow day of the season, and also one of the deepest).

a reserved Vagabond, which me and one skier tracked out in the first couple hours.

I knew it had more to do with your lack of liver function than it did your knee...

by banged up I meant my knee. You think an old drinking pro like myself would let a hangover get in the way of 12" of fresh on rumble?

I thought i had more cred with you than that!

Oh. "Banged up" immediately made me think of the condition you were in the night before, complete with shit talkin' in some seemingly foreign language...

The run that stands out the most was the first run down ME at Sugarbush on 3/21. Pure bliss. :D

With a shortened season I have very few memorable runs. AZ day at Hunter, my first run down Claires before it tracked out.

New Years eve when i was able to do the torch light parade.
