So who likes to imbibe while skiing? I might have a beer at lunch, but that's about it. In years past, I've skied a few times pretty buzzed and didn't care for it much. I'd much rather have a clear head. Once I'm home or back to the lodging locale, all bets are off!

I usually have one with lunch, but we don't usually do lunch until around 3 (so we miss the lunch crowd in the lodge and the post-lunch/pre-"I'm tired, Dad" crowd on the slopes)

One or two at lunch are cool if I feel like taking the time. Usually lunch is a quicky to get back on the slopes. I do like how things in the Alps work with random farm huts all over the trails serving lunch and beer. Or you can just stop for some cheese, bread and beer or struedle and beer or beer . . . :-D

I find the huts where you can get a nice beer with a side of beer to be particulary attractive.

I've occasionally had a beer or glass of wine with a late lunch. Drinking and participatory sports just don't seem like a good match to me. I seem to drink plenty after skiing, however.

You had me totally screwed up with the title at first. In my line of work UI means User Interface. I thought this was going to be about skiing with a heads up display or something...

Anyway, back on topic. I'm not much of a drinker anyway, but I think I've had a beer at lunch when skiing with others. Not too often though, I prefer to be as sober as possible when flinging my body down a mountain. I've definitely had one or two apre-ski when I'm with the right crowd...

I only skied intoxicated twice last season out of 119 days. The one day at Jackson hole with my buddy I drank a 24 ounce Heinekin and a 16 ounce can of Nut Brown Ale in the parking lot at lunch. On Gaper Fools day at Blue mountain..I drank at least 8 beers...

I've also ridden the Ganja-la at Stowe..lol

Yea, sometimes i need a little bit of liquid confidence for the terrain park. Good idea? No. But its not like im hitting 40 foot gaps. I had a bad injury a while ago on the terrain park (i was sober then), and its hard to get that out of the back of my head when i do jumps and 360's and whatnot.

Only downside is i gotta piss alot!

I do my drinkin when the ski day is over. It has never made sense to me to do it while skiing.

I think most of us are talking about one beer with lunch. Unless you are a real lightweight it's not going to effect your performance. We're not getting wasted and skiing.

I think of skiing as an athletic endeavor. So I don't drink before I do it. I mean, I wouldn't drink before I played basketball, soccer, or football . . . so I wouldn't drink before skiing.

After I'm done, however, all bets are off.

Oh yeah..liquid confidence...I've been greeted in the Booter mountain terrain park by a PBR and the next run..so much wanted to hit the big mo-fo booter and had to talk myself out of it due to sloppy landing..but still getting mad steezy air off the first table-top and the "sex" booter..then hit the butter box and ski right down the steps on my LT11s..

Remember skiing intoxicated is bad smartstyle and requires an immediate safety meeting..

My bad..a bottle and for some reason I think it's 16.9 ounces..darn store next to the Mangy Moose with their plentiful beer..

Watch out for the yellow snow in the Symphony woods..
