If end up staying in nh long term mwv is completely out. North of the notches might work though at least for now. I'm completely priced out
I’ve been monitoring the Bethlehem / Littleton zone for a couple of years. Obviously lower prices than here but not as low as you’d think, being so remote. NH has just become too desirable. Wish I didn’t like living here so much 🤣.

That's what Maines for.

1) With sales and income taxes Maine's property taxes are lower. If it's not a second home you're golden. Do you get anything in Maine for your tax dollars? Yes, you get to join the volunteer fire dept and bring your trash to the transfer station.
2) Maine is big, very big. The fastest growing part of New Hampshire is N. Conway. So yea tough to do anything there.
3) The golden rule: live in New Hampshire build camp in Vermont or Maine.

That is one of the nicest places I've been to. The sides of the mountains can be farmed especially the Southeast slopes. The slopes aren't so steep, etc.

Not sure why folks flee big cities to get away from COVID and crime only to be mauled by a bear in the great white north.

Connecting all of those resorts would be a game changer, not only for SLC but potentially for the US ski industry. Silly that the NIMBYs killed it.

It's not really NIMBYs, it's environmental-extremists working in concert with backcountry snobs who think they own the mountains due to their inherent, elevated skiing skill-set & supreme level of awesomeness which you will never attain. Did you know they even carry shovels? Gods amongst mere mortals really.

My Epic Local pass came in the mail today! Something, something, something, dark side.

I find it funny that Epic gets their passes out early even though they're never in any rush to open their mountains.

If you dont get your Epic pass you cant link it to your credit card and conveniently buy tee-shirts, coozies, magnets, and $7.50 Diet Cokes on property over the summer.

This housing market is going to crash it seems like its completely out of control everywhere

The Northeast and pockets of the Midwest are the least softening. It'll happen there too though, just on a lag. Florida & Texas were the first to balloon and now they're the first which are softening (fast). Cycles are real.

Try Whitefield, it borders both Bethlehem + Littleton. Close enough to alot of ski areas.

Me too. I think walking distance to either downtown would be great. It's too bad the White Mountain Super Pass doesn't have any Western partners yet.

I don't think you'll see WMSP partner with a major pass without one of those areas being purchased. Kinda surprises me that BW hasn't been picked up by Alterra. Seems to fit their profile.

Maybe WV too. That place has been on the market awhile

I did not know that about WV. I continue to think something about the layout of WV is weird. I’ve never had a great day there.

The two things I dislike about WV are the parking (worst in New England) and the lack of a HS lift on Green Peak.

I only recently started skiing there again three years ago when I switched to Indy. If it's a classic hard pack NH weekend, I'll actually take WV over Cannon or Loon. On those types of days, I like long runs and manageable lift lines to bang out a bunch of vertical. WV is pretty decent for that.

Cannon is vastly superior when natural snow terrain is in, but I get bored pretty quickly skiing the Cannonball or Zoomer when it's just groomer skiing . Loon is intolerable on weekends.

Parking isn’t that bad at WV unless you roll in at like 11 on a weekend or holiday. I more so think they implement capital projects in poor ways, typically getting over their skis. Their new six pack was cheap (comparatively) and shows. Their green peak expansion never has good snowmaking coverage, as the trails weren’t fully graded and are too large for their capacity. Then they do odd things like leave tattered old yurts flapping in the breeze for years. I still really dig the mountain overall as I think the main mountain layout is pretty solid and efficient, but it just overall strikes me as the equivalent of someone who buys the absolute largest house they can afford regardless of whether it is filled with builder grade crap that will just prove problematic long term.

Really? I know of no ski area in New England that requires a longer schlep uphill from parking to lift than WV.

Maybe we have just been unlucky, but we ski there on Saturdays, arrive before 9 and are always stuck in lot 6 or lower. It wouldn't be bad if their shuttle was reliable and had more stops. We often just hoof it the shuttle is so unreliable.

Trying to help two young kids carry their gear and our lunch bag up that hill blows. My wife doesn't ski, so it's all me. I really can't think of a worse parking setup in New England.

The way I learned to deal with this at all ski resorts is, Drive up to the loading zone in front of the lodge and dump all your families equipment, and your kids once they are old enough to be on their own for a few minutes. Then go park. Reverse the procedure at end of day.

High speed (or at least a less slow fixed grip) on Green Peak would be much appreciated

Bolton has a good schlep up from parking lot to lift. Waterville you can ski almost to your parking row anyway

Yeah I feel like Bolton is worse, definitely with kids since they can’t be bothered with any sort of snow removal.

The shuttle at Waterville is pretty spotty. Why bother if it isn’t going to be regular.
