Keep Hoping IT IS ONLY MARCH 18!!!!!!

All we need is a spring blizzard, and this whole discussion would become irrelivant, and a big dump, or two for this to become a decent winter.

For pretty much the whole east coast, south of, new england winter is over, period. NOT IN NEW ENGLAND. we still have a few weeks in which winter can still show her wrath,

Think snow, the season is not over yet, and even when the callender says it is spring, that sure as heck doesn't mean it can't puke.

I froze my @ss off on the Green Mountain Freezer yesterday and said fairwell to winter by skiing in a big dump at Bolton today. Winter is still alive, it's just hiding in the higher elevations of Northern Vermont.

Loafer does this mean that we won't see you at K this spring along with BobR?

I am hoping to get in some days of skiing at Killington in April and May, it just did not seem worth the trip to Killington last weekend when Jay had powder and Bolton had 12" of untracked powder to be skied.

I feel bad about not using my pass, but I do not feel like skiing on marginal conditions if I can avoid it.

great to see you posting some info on here john, thanks for the link! looks like you got some sweet turns at the bush. more snow than i sampled at jay yesterday. there seems no end of the snow in sight, so who knows what tomorrow will bring. this is like russian roulette in the northern greens with a foot of fresh.

reports of this season's death have been greatly exagerated.

I think that picture is beyond the "faceshot" realm and into "white room" territory. The next two or three photos in that sequence shows the skier literally gasping for air after coughing out a big mouthful of snow.

Check the Valley Reporter this week for more shots of this run.

The white room shot is of an alpiner who is over 6 feet tall. No dropped knee needed yesterday.

I will continue to claim my case that this winter is not as bad as 2001-2002 was. You just have to search this year. Current clue: northern VT.

I agree, Thanksgiving was fantastic at Killington, Belleayre was great in January with snowcat powder skiing, March has been great with powder at Plattekill, Jay, Stowe and Bolton.

with the recent snowfall, i have upgraded my opinion of the winter. 7.25/10, might get higher though if snow fall keeps adding up. seriously. it was kinda medicore up until february, but march really kicked things into high gear and more than made up for it.
